Basically immigrants have to get permission (VISA, green card, etc...) to be in the US and they did not. The US doesn't have the time and money to enforce the immigration laws completely. The ones who are found are usually deported.

Illegal immigration is having no permission to live and/or work in the country, It doesn't matter the way they came in. Most are people who never even had passports unfortunately, so this means not even a tourist visa. Someone who has a student visa most probably his or her family are wealthy people who do not need to stay in the country illegally. And to your answer of why? because they take up jobs that a regular American would not want... Like picking strawberries in the field. That it became to be way too many people... yes I think it did. The government should had place a sand wall before the high tide came, not try to build it when it's already flooded.

are you an american? your english doesn't sound so perfect either. They crawl under tunnels at the borders of America and Mexico have you not read the news or seen television? they do not come on student visas . they are poor men and women and they come here to have babies and make a living they think it will be better than what they have in Mexico. They work as maids and gardeners and get paid cash under the table and no one reports them because the rich employ them and don't have to pay high wages to these people. It is a disgrace to them. They are abused and make little wages and have to all live together in one room apartments. It is disgusting. But you should get the facts about illegal immigration and the US before you judge. We try everything we can and human trafficing is a big money business between Mexico and California. A lot are deported but it is difficult to find them.

The US Govt. IS strict with it's immigration rules (I should know, i'm a full legal resident who did everything by the book....and succeeded), and rightly so.

Illegals don't use legal methods though, and that makes it hard to stop them.

Illegals are all of those.

Why doesn't the govt. do anything? Because the dems want them because they help them vote (illegally)
The republicans want them because it is cheap (and illegal) labor.

The good news is that the public is OUTRIGHT SICK OF IT and demanding that the politicians fix it. I do not think you will see amnesty of any kind because over 80% of Americans are boldly against it, and the politicians know that it would be an end to their career in many cases. Long term politicans would be voted out according to polls.

It's the person that wants to come to the U.S. and steal government services for free. We are so kind and nice here that all the taxpayers pay for it and we pay for services that Americans can't get. No wonder we are pissed off?
