Your age and your "dental age" may be different. Some 10 year olds have all of their permanent teeth, and some 14 year olds still have baby teeth. Usually, Invisalign is used on people that have all of their permanent teeth in, including the "12 year" molars. So you might be able to have Invisalign at a younger age, but usually in the 14-16 and older age range.

All orthodontics will be slightly uncomfortable, invisalign is uncomfortable every couple of weeks when you change to the next tray - unless you are a very disciplined teenager and are committed to wearing the trays 24/7 (except for meals) then you would be better in fixed rather than removable orthodontics. For every hour you skip wearing the trays it takes 3 hours to catch up and it really isn't good for your roots and bone to be switching the trays in and out all the time.

You need to have all your adult teeth, so about 16 years old. Invisalign is not for everyone. If you have alomst straight teeth, then it's what you want. If your teeth are crooked, rotated, or just plain messed up, you need braces. How that helps.

Generally 12-14 or older. You have to have fully erupted molars to get invisalign.
