I really want to make space shuttles and airplanes and other spacecraft. That's why I've chosen to be an aerospace engineer. I heard that they are often out of a job, is that correct? And also, what do I do as a freshman in high school to prepare? Any other suggestions?

Yes, I love physics AND math. I'm taking Geometry in 9th grade. I am also going to join the Engineering Club at my high school.

When I was in high school, Geometry in 9th grade meant Calculus in 12th grade. That's a good start.
Focus more on physics classes than chemistry or biology (if you have the opportunity to take an AP class).
Really doing work towards becoming an Aero Eng. won't happen until probably your sophomore or junior year in college when you start taking your Aero classes. Until then it's just general engineering courses.
Short answer: Don't worry too much about it now. Focus on engineering based AP classes later in high school, but as a Freshman there isn't a lot you can do other than study and get good grades.
Good luck!

I'm a junior in college and also planning on being an aerospace engineer. A good idea is to find a branch of engineering besides aerospace and focus on that first, but make sure it has at least a good amount of relevance to aerospace (I'm going for a mechanical engineering degree myself.) Mechanical engineering has alot of relevance in the field of aerospace, where you study like the stress/strain on objects (in this case spacecraft), some physics, lots of math, etc. Pretty much any type of engineering will help you out... electrical, civil... you'll still end up taking alot of the same math/science courses. I am not sure where you heard about them often being out of a job, I have an uncle who has been working at NASA for ages and he has been doing very well financially as well. Actually if anything I don't think it's that hard to become an aerospace engineer as long as you get really good grades, take your work seriously, and have a willingness to work. I read somewhere that you need around a 3.5 GPA average to even make the cut, but grades aren't everything obviously.

Well, good for you. I wouldn't worry all that much about the stability of employment. It is true that space development is still pretty much a government activity, and companies that work with the government by contract can win or lose contracts, or government funding may reduce the level of federal employment.
Your freshman curriculum is pretty basic, since you have to take the groud floor courses on English, Math, Social Studies, Languages, etc.
At this point, unless you have picked up high school credits in middle (or junior high) school, you don't have much "wiggle room". If you can, take German; while it doesn't carry the scientific clout it used to, it's more useful than many of the other languages. Also, participate in school activities. Most of all, try to enjoy high school. An old saying helps "believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear".

yes, be sure you're good at, and love, math. Many people revel in the glamors of physics and engineering without understanding what it actually entails. Starting to beef up on your math classes and maybe even sampling calculus ASAP at a community college or summer program will give you good insight into whether or not you want to, and have the innate ability, to pursue such a career.

I merely finished up freshman three hundred and sixty 5 days, and that i enjoyed it! :) In my college district, basically 2 center colleges feed into my close by intense college, yet there replaced into nevertheless various human beings i did no longer know. in spite of the shown fact that, it replaced into spectacular what proportion new acquaintances I made. you do no longer could hassle relating to the social factor as that's totally delicate how everybody's new friendships mixture mutually. of direction, you will nevertheless have those propose human beings from center college/junior intense, yet this three hundred and sixty 5 days, they are considered greater as merely being caught-up or dropping out on the highschool experience of their exclusion of themselves. dropping acquaintances is a tragic area of freshman. human beings mature a lot in that first three hundred and sixty 5 days of high school; some human beings mature greater suitable than others, and you all start to discover your area of interest which finally ends up in growing to be aside. you will nevertheless smile at one yet another interior the hallway, in spite of the shown fact that it merely isn't an identical. that's unhappy; you will nevertheless have the techniques even with the undeniable fact that. As for lecturers, I have been given a 4.0 in all stepped forward training! Woo! Haha. :) Getting good grades isn't that a lot greater good than center college. the explanation why maximum of pupils conflict is via various quantities of right here 3 motives: a) Falling in with a undesirable crowd b) coming up a unfavourable sleep time table c) dropping motivation that's considerable to consciously make judgements to ward off those pitfalls. do no longer supply up on college merely through fact that's little greater good and that's no longer center college anymore. intense college does contemporary various possibilities to get in concern. :P that's good to have slightly enjoyable, do merely no longer take it too a strategies. shop it in examine; merely be helpful you would be keen to tell your man or woman little ones approximately your exploits. in case you do no longer prefer all people to nicely known you have executed something, do no longer do it. they are going to discover out.
