If so, what do you do for fun? In a culture like ours drinking is seems like the only way to have fun. However, I don't drink...as a result I have no friends. It seems that going to the movies is so 8th grade...and that you can only have a nice time by incorporating alcohol into your evening.
I'm curious how you keep up with society. Do you have other born again christian friends to support you?

So 'born again' Christians are the only people who don't drink?
I love it when Christians think they're more moral than anyone else!

Well, im a born again christian and I can clearly tell you that you dont have to drink to be cool or have fun. There are many other ways. You say that going to the movies is 8th grade stuff, but I disagree. I love going to a nice movie then out to dinner. You can find other people out there with similar interest as you but don't rush anything. You can join local groups in your area, take walks in the park, go to plays or art functions, sports activities, hanging with family members, church youth groups, shopping, the list can go on and on. Hang in there girl, sooner or later you will find people with the same interest as you.

You say that you are a born-again Christian, but you don't mention precisely which denomination you belong to. They all interpret the Bible slightly differently and some have stricter rules regarding alcohol than others. As far as most of them are concerned, you could simply have one or two beers and nurse them all night long. If you must abstain altogether, there is no reason you can't substitute some other non-alcoholic drink and keep it in your hand. You certainly don't have to get drunk in order to have fun with your friends or seem cool, but you DO have to be warm and sociable and know how to be comfortable with people. The biggest problem with born-again Christians relating to others is that they routinely set themselves apart from the world, instead of living in it. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think your problem with making friends maybe goes a little deeper than the fact that you don't drink.

Find a hobby or interest that you like, such as sports, or get involved in your church. There are tons of ways to have fun without drinking. Being a mom, I take up a lot of my spare time playing Candyland and barbies with my daughter, or making play dough, or reading to her. You can always take on a class of kids at church - organize a youth group of your own with little ones or organize a social group in your Sunday school class with scheduled Saturday outings every other weekend or so.

Yes, I'm 49 years young. When I want to have fun I either play with my kids or go for a ride on my motorcycle and face death. I feel close to God when I'm one bad decision from death.
Why don't you go skydiving or rapelling or whitewater rafting? Or whatever sounds adventurous to you? I have Christian friends, but I've never in my life thought of how to keep up with society. Are you sure you want to?
Hey, I've a great adventure for you--how about a missions trip? Here's where you will find joy and fulfillment and lay up rewards for eternity. You might even make new friends at church.

You need to stop thinking of the world as a place to be entertained. It's that type of American thinking that is degrading our culture and killing the nation - we always need to be entertained.
Do something useful with your time - if you're Christian, then study the Word of God, do charitable works, etc.
Believe me, alcohol isn't the only way to have fun in the world - but remember, if having fun is your only goal, your heart is not in the right place.
"I actually don't do bible study/youth group" - maybe you should consider it.

Find a church that has a lot of youth and get involved, also at 23 you need to be praying for Jesus to show you what you need to be doing, I am sure he has a plan for you, every Christian has a job with in the body of Christ. Read your Bible and pray a lot and Christ will lead you were you need to go. Good luck and May God Bless!!

Im 17, 18 tomorrow. I hate that everybody my age drinks, despite that its ILLEGAL. Anyway i love video games, bowling, watching funny movies, hanging out with my friends. There are plenty of things you can do for fun without doing anything stupid and wrong.

Im not a born again christian but I am happy with my life even if I dont drink. You dont have to belong to a certain group if you want to be happy. Just search your inner self and discover your interests.

Me! I'm 14 yrs. old. Well, where I'm from... teenagers don't really drink that often. People around here just have parties with soda, pizza, and a bonfire.... The people who drink and do drugs are looked down upon in my high school. They're considered "lowlifes."
