Yes.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe the bible to teach that getting a tattoo is a serious sin. However, a Christian who hopes to qualify for privileges in his congregation does not get a tattoo or permit his family to get one. If a Christian already has a tattoo, he recognizes the importance of working to minimize the appearance and distraction from his tattoos.
(1 Corinthians 9:19-23) For, though I am free from all persons, I have made myself the slave to all, that I may gain the most persons. And so to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; ...I have become all things to people of all sorts, that I might by all means save some. But I do all things for the sake of the good news, that I may become a sharer of it with others.

Yes, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Active for years.
Many brothers and sisters come from different backgrounds out of the world.
Many of them, were good spiritual people with no direction, so tattoos were and still a part of modern worldly culture.
Many brothers and sisters have tattoos from their worldly lives. Some conspicuous, some not so.
But they are still serving Jehovah God with better understanding of Gods requirements!
Some were not that cute and innocent, and were very bad people, changed from drugs, and Alcohol addiction, and gangs and violence, even prison by the word of God.
BUT, they are still my brothers and sisters, no matter what the tattoos of the world imply!!!!!!!!!
I live in an upscale neighborhood, I have a couple of sisters with roses, and ankle bracelets, and a brother with a navy tattoo.
But, I have seen others and I don't care. They are my spiritual brothers and sisters!

Yes. I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and knew several other Witnesses who had tattoos. They had had the tattoos done prior to becoming Jehovah's Witnesses. Generally they made an effort to wear clothing which covered the tattoos, especially to the meetings, such as long sleeved shirts or jackets.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that getting a tattoo is sinful. Their reasoning for this is based on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
They believe that activities such as smoking, using drugs, getting tattoos etc defile your body and do not glorify God.

Le 19:28 “‘And YOU must not make cuts in YOUR flesh for a deceased soul, and YOU must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.
Before we started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses my Wife got a butterfly tattoo.
When I was in the world I never got one. When we learned the truth we know now that the Bible is clear on this matter.
We got baptized in Aug. 1996 as Jehovah's Witnesses.
The truth is so beautiful.

Of course I do. But these people got tatooed when they were still ignorant like yourself.
Once learning Bible truth and becoming one of Jehovahs Witnesses, there is no way we would get a tatoo and displease our Heavenly Father.
Jehovah God forgives us for our past mistakes remembering we are dust.

lots of them out there.
if they have funds, if they have the desire, they get rid of them. if not, it is just a talking point for the ministry.
young elder in a cong had them on his hand. kinda nasty stuff. but, when people asked him, it allowed him to show what he WAS as a church of whatever member and the change he made when he became a witness.
super nice fella, too.

Yep...Me..EXJW..going this very weekend to get a beautiful Cross tattooed on the back of my neck......Can't wait!...It is an outward symbol of me breaking away from a Cult and adopting the beliefs of Christ.
JasonW...... thinks we are still under Leviticul law, and shows that he does not understand the scriptures...Go back and read the entire book of Leviticus and see in context what was not allowed..and then make your wife burn all her dresses with a pattern on them.
Even though it ia against JW law to get a tattoo..there has been no scriptural evedence to support the rule....Not even Bill I mean Heiss came up with good scripture on it.
