I have been on Prozac on several occassions. It does make you groggy and light-headed, but there is a way to deal with this. Your doctor will show you the proper way to stand up and sit down to lessen these effects.
But the worst side effect I experienced were the nightmares. They were so bad I had to get off of the meds.
Good luck!

I've heard of that. One of the side effects is either being too tired or having too much energy. When I went on it, I had way too much energy. I couldn't sit still and I went on a 48 hour sleep cycle because trazodone doesn't actually make me tired and my doctor wouldn't give me anything else...good fun it was when he upped my prozac dosage to 40 mg lol.
They say side effects are supposed to go away after 4 to 6 weeks, but for me, they just got worse! I quit after 6 months. The good news about Prozac is that it has a really long half life and takes quite awhile to leave your system, so if you quit suddenly, you probably won't have too many problems caused by 'discontinuation syndrome'. Of course, you may experience a sudden relapse in symptoms or something equally frightening with your mood/anxiety. Then again, when the medication is intolerable, you won't really care.

It doesn't make me tired, but I take it first thing in the morning. It is one of the side effects though.

I take 10mg and it has the opposite effect on me! I take it in the A.M so I am able to fall asleep. It only stabilizes my moodiness not much else
