because they are programed to believe in it literally.

There is an ongoing debate among scholars regarding the historical accuracy of the Bible. Some feel that the Bible is a fictitious work and should be read as a work of literary fiction. Others feel it is an accurate historical work divinely inspired by God. Archaeology has played a major role in determining the trustworthiness of the Bible.
The accuracy of the Gospels has been supported by archaeology. The names of many of the Israelite cities, events, and people described in them have now been located.

Well look at it this way. I believe God created everything and continues to keep it all running smoothly. Now when you believe this the things said in the Bible that people say could not have happened are easy to belief for if God made it all what is it to Him to do the miracles written in the Bible. It's nothing to him so why could these things not have happened?
For example the splitining of the Red Sea. He made the sea so why would he not be able to split it?

Because we tend to believe in the miracles in it. People don't typically raise from the dead after being dead three days, we know that. What we are saying is that it happened that time. And not only that it happened that time, but He called it. Even hundreds of years before it happened.
And the person who lived hundreds of years before Jesus who said it would happen wrote it down, along with many other things that wouldn't happen in his life time. The people who did these things are called prophets.
God used prophets to tell people about things that would happen in the future , and the way it goes, He remains true to what those prophets said.
That's the main thing about being Christian, trusting what God has said. That's why we believe that things happened that are impossible by people standards. God is also called, " The God of Impossibilities". He does things no one else can.

You have been informed wrong, in regard to born-again Christians interpreting the Bible literally. Fundamentalist Christians do, but not Born-Again Christians.
You see, some things in the Bible are stories, myths, allegory's, etc.. The Bible has poems and prose..... The Holy Spirit used many ways to teach us the principles and promises of God. Go ahead and study it, it's a great book, and you can be sure, you can gain much wisdom.

Because those who believe and know God have been changed from being a physical creature to a spiritual creature.
For to know God who is spirit, a man must be born again, made spiritual again. And when he is born again, he sees God's Words not with physical eyes, but with spiritual eyes.

Oh, you know this for sure, huh? I suppose you must be omniscient. Well, maybe I can't prove all of it happened, but you can't prove any of it didn't happen.
