Religious people say they go by faith? Why, isn't that dangerous? I mean I wouldn't waste my life on something I'm not even sure is there; controlling your kids, killing witches, hating other religious followers, create wars in his name because your “faith” is so strong. That's like saying you have "faith" a murderer killed this guy, yet all the facts say it's not him, in fact you actually have proof on who it really is, yet you ignore these overwhelming facts because you possess faith?!? Doesn't make sense in a murder trial, why would it make sense in real life?

Cher you won't answer me because you know they are not good facts. Science is the only thing that has helped the world: Vaccines, discovery of diseases, illnesses, explains the world is round; the universe is big and 15 billion years old. LOL you don't look to it unless you need a heart transplant! Typical Christian!

It's because the human mind is a very powerful thing. Even if you absolutely KNOW something's true you can convince yourself to believe that it's not just by thinking. Your mind has such influence over your body that you can convince yourself that you're sick or that you can see ghosts. It can play tricks on you and make you see, hear, smell, touch or even taste things that aren't even there. People are ignorant of this fact and don't realize that their way of thinking is overpowering the physical evidence. That's why they ignore them, it's not on purpose (most of the time) they just aren't aware of it. You can also trick your mind into knowing the answer to something or if something/someone exists (like religion)or not, even though it's not true or you don't know if it's true.

I am religious. I don't control my kids. I give my kids CHOICES and that is the way religious advise you to do. You teach your children A.) They have a choice and B.) when they choose wrong, there is a consequences. That prepares them for the real world. I have never killed a witch, I dont hate religious followers and I have never started a war.
I have plenty of proof that god exists and I dont have to explain it to you. I don't owe you any explaination.
I have faith and I listen to facts, Not just in the "bible" or in my local newspaper. I dont look to a scientist every day of the week.
I look to MYSELF and what I feel with my instincts. That leads me to God--Everytime.

Typocal non-believer who didn't read my answer...
Read it again: First of all you started saying "what the religious do" YOU DON'T KNOW ME or WHAT I DO. so dont write that I kill witches or blah blah blah...
Want an answer: Here you go: AGAIN: I go BY FAITH to GOD. I don't NEED scientific proof. WHY? Because he didn't harm me or do anything that is unthinkable. PEOPLE DO! when a person murders another, I want to know whether or not I need to take him OFF THE STREETS.
LIFE DIDN'T HARM ME, LIFE DOESN'T NEED TO BE TAKEN OFF THE STREETS. THATS WHY.
Do you not understand the VERY CLEAR differences.
Science is NOT THE ONLY THING THAT HAS HELPED THE WORLD. Look at AUTISM...DID YOU WATCH LARRY KING TONIGHT?? whether or not science can prove if vaccines GIVE OUR CHILDREN AUTISM or not, Parents who have autism KNOW that it did.
I NEVER said I DONT LISTEN TO SCIENCE. OH I DO.
But I dont WORSHIP IT. I HAVE A MIND OF MY OWN AND YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT DOING THE SAME.
SCIENCE MAKES MISTAKES. MANY THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN SHOWN. LOOK AT THAT.
what does how big the universe is mean? Uh NO ******* DUH. I know how old it is, BTW I think you meant EARTH.

somewhat that this might properly be a ethical question. ethical questions approximately no account have a conclusive end. somewhat that it somewhat is a existence from the 2d the sperm and the egg meet. it somewhat is a residing, growing to be organism with a special DNA blueprint and a sexual identity. Now understanding is a distinctive element all mutually. you may desire to somewhat argue that a newborn toddler has no wakeful concept, subsequently that is not yet a guy or woman and can desire to be aborted. Is a guy or woman who's under anesthesia a guy or woman? No concept, no habit, no understanding, no interest? might desire to we placed somebody under anesthesia and then kill them by way of fact at that element they weren't a self-retaining wakeful existence? what approximately severely mentally disabled persons? the fee of human existence has fluctuated during time and during the worldwide. employing your logic let's imagine that existence has no meaning by way of fact no consensus might properly be made as to its fee. purely by way of fact we've undesirable definitions for "existence" would not advise that we'd desire to consistently have the skill to kill all people or something that would not extra healthful into our definition and is inconvenient. technology will in no way sparkling up this argument. via how, Mormons do not declare that "existence" starts off at concept, even though it somewhat is a huge adequate deal that they prefer to err on the conservative ingredient and not bypass around killing gods babies, if that's so.

I am not going to pretend to answer your question, but I recently read an article that stated that about 90% of everything you know (this is on average) you know on faith. You have faith that what you have been told is true - faith that the person telling you knows what they are talking about.
I think that number a little high, but the argument is basically true. How many of us can afford the time to research and test every fact that has been presented in our life?

Religious or not, everyone uses facts because we are human. Humans are fallible, so we need a justice system that uses facts for proof of guilt or innocence. Faith wouldn't work in a murder trial, because people forget, lie, make mistakes, omit information, etc. (I don't hate anyone, and I'm not sure how that witch and war stuff is relevant.)
With God, you've just proven our point: We ARE sure He is there, so we don't need physical proof to know He exists. That is where faith comes in. We have the Holy Spirit in us, so we know He exists because of faith.
Hebrews 11:1 -- Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
John 20:29 -- Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

You have a very valid point, but the people who most need to understand what you are saying will not really read it. Faith is like putting on blinders...
