How do I go about selling my photography?? Im not looking into selling stock photography. I would be more interested in selling to greeting card companies and such. I specialize in animal photography. Any help would be great, thanks!

If you're selling through POD(print on demand) sites such as Cafe Press, Red Bubble, Society 6, Zazzle, Fine Art America, you don't need a business license. You don't have to deal with customers because they handle the printing, mailing, returns, etc. They send you a 1090 tax form at the end of the year, and you file as a freelance. Of course you won't get rich, but not having to deal with the public or having to keep an inventory makes it worthwhile. Etsy has a community message board where you might get a better answer regarding business licenses.

You should have a look at the "2007 Photographers Market"
(amazon.com) this will give you lots of information on other places that you can sell your work. In there you can look under card companies and see if they accept submissions from from freelance photographers. But Antoni is correct that alot of card companys look at stock it is alot easier to deal with an agency that has been doing this type of work for awhile.

You should also read the information on the following websites:

http://www.copyright.gov/
http://www.asmp.org/commerce/legal/releases/

Now one more source where you can sell your work at and you must do everything.

http://www.etsy.com

Hope this information helps,
Kevin
