i read in this book that grass only looks green because of certain lights from the sky.
whats all this about?

Grass is green because of the pigments contained within the leaf. As light strikes the leaf, much of the spectrum is absorbed, however, some is reflected. In the case of grass, chlorophyll reflects the green color you see!

White light contains all colors. The grass absorbs all colors except for the green, which is reflected.
