Although people are saying that Stuffing and Dressing are the same .... well, in my opinion, they are not.

Stuffing is much more dry. It is made with bread crumbs or cubes. It is more of a northern dish.

Dressing is moist. It is made with cornbread, eggs, milk and chicken broth. It is a mostly southern dish.

Both are very good. I have family from both sides of the Mason Dixon line. I like variations of stuffing and dressing. If I had to choose, I really couldn't.

Wild Rice Stuffing with water chestnuts is awesome .... and my Aunt Ruth's Chicken and Dressing is as light as a feather.

Nope. Can't choose. Both as different as night and day -- and equally scrumptuous in their own right.

Dressing does not get filled into something. It basically outfits the dish. That surely is the only distinction. Like ya you additionally could make a brilliant area of dressing, cut up it in 0.5, stuff between the halves right into a fowl or turkey and depart the different as is after which you have dressing and stuffing. It quite does not remember what the agency container says. What concerns is the way you prepare dinner it.

semantics really. in my house they are the same thing. though technically I think stuffing is the stuff that's inside of something. i.e. in the turkey at thanksgiving, filling for a stuffed tomato., etc. dressing to me is the stuff that cooks on the side outside the turkey. at our house, my mom stuff the bird with the the stuffing stuff, and then also cooks a batch of it on the side. same recipe just outside in a pan.

dressing sometimes refers to a cake like recipe made with the same ingredients as a stuffing but baked in a casserole and intended to be sliced and eaten under turkey gravy with a slice of turkey on top. ☺

Same recipe, just cooked in different locations..dressing is safer because it's not cooked inside the bird. I wish I'd know my life was in danger for the last 30 years..LOL What would we do without knowing the safely guidelines for proper food safety?

Depends on where you're from!
Also, stuffing goes inside a bird, while dressing sits alongside, to "dress"
