I would like to know what views does the catholic church have with the field of paranormal research?

Paranormal means beyond the range of normal experience or scientific explanation.

The Catholic Church is all about the paranormal including God, Jesus Christ, miracles, spirituality, souls. Even the devil, possession, and exorcism.

+ Ghosts +

To the best of my knowledge the Catholic Church has no official position on ghosts. The doctrine of heaven and hell would seem to negate any reason for ghosts to be the souls of dead people.

However paranormal phenomena seems to exist. These phenomena may come from sources other than the souls of people in heaven, hell, or purgatory. We simply do not know.

The Church is very suspicious of people who claim to talk to ghosts.

+ Divination +

The Catholic Church teaches:

All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future.

Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers.

They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

+ With love in Christ.

The Catholic church is on record as certifying certain apparitions as being authentic, and the Catholic church still retains professional exorcists, in many dioceses around the world.

At least one Catholic saint was observed by numerous witnesses, flying through the air, while other saints are known to have been able to be in two places at once.

Authenticated miracles are always required before anyone can be officially declared a saint.

The Catholic church teaches that Jesus ascended to heaven by his own power, taking his human body and human soul, with him.

The church also teaches that the Holy Spirit conveyed the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven, body and soul, as well.

Is that paranormal enough for you?

They used to suppose in exorcists and sin eaters. They only recently authorised evolution. I'm no longer certain what historical international ideals they preserve directly to now, I consider it is dependent what nation the catholic strategies are from.

I have found Catholics to be the most accepting and understanding of my belief in the paranormal than other Abrahamic faiths

You have NATURAL, which is human;
You have Supernatural, which is divine; and
you have praeternatural which is either angelic or demonic.

Now the Church knows the limitations of natural occurrences. Further, it knows that there are no limitations with respect to supernatural occurrences......the rub is that it is unsure as to the limitation of the praeternatural......AND....THAT IS WHY IT TAKES ITS TIME TO DECLARE OCCURRENCES AS MIRACULOUS.
