WWJJ... Jesus was sent to the Jewish nation first....they were given a chance at first-fruits....but, they denied Him just like they denied His Father in the OT.
Isaiah spoke about Jesus and of ALL nations receiving salvation in Isaiah 49:6 and 42:6 (among others) but, even in Genesis 12:1-3 God told Abraham that ALL families of the earth would be blessed through him (Abraham)
But you want a statement by Jesus before his death and ascension...ok, look to John 10:16 "...and I have other sheep, that are not of this fold, I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd."
Peace be with you :)
*** So MANY good answers!!! But, SKIP said it the best with Matthew 22...almost used that one, now I know why I didn't, best to see the whole account and I wouldn't have WAY TO GO SKIP!!! :)

Quit trying to blame Paul for the faults of the stiff-necked Jews.
God has always been in the habit of exclusively offering his grace and mercy for a limited time only ... and then letting others get in on the action.
He did it primarily for the Jews, right up until 70 AD.
He did it for the Romans and the middle eastern gentile nations, after that.
After the fall of Rome, he extended his offer to the rest of the world.
The offer presently expires at the moment of our death, or on Judgment Day, whichever comes first.

Jesus , in His earthly ministry, DID come only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Under that program, all the other nations were to follow Israel. However, Israel fell into UNBELIEF, and God changed programs.
Enter PAUL...He has a new gospel, with new instructions for a NEW CREATION that didnt exist before under JUDAISM, but NOW does under "the preaching of Jesus Christ (RISEN) ACCORDING to the revelation of the MYSTERY>>>..." Romans 16:25
He died for the sins of the World...but the PROGRAM changed in that we dont have to come THROUGH the nation Israel under the dispensation of GRACE.
NOW, Israel has the same status as we gentiles, as they have "been concluded in UNBELIEF so that God can have mercy upon ALL."

Prophecies in Isaiah say the Gentiles will be preached to.Jesus came to the House of Israel but he had other sheep who weren't of the flock. John 4 ,Jesus preaches to the Samaritans. They were not Jewish but a mixture of Hebrew and other races(Arab,Babylonian ,Assyrian) that were brought in during their exile to Assyria and Babylon.God brought persecution on the Apostles because after Pentecost ,they wouldn't move. This spread them out throughout the known world preaching the Gospel.
Paul added NO paganism, the Catholic church did that 300 years later.Paul (and the Jerusalem council agreed) just would not lay on them,as Peter said,"A yoke of bondage(the Law of Moses) that neither we nor our fathers were able to bear".
Paul and Peter were fantastic and were believing Jews until the day they died.

Jesus was a Jew Himself. 100% God 100% man. He came to the Jews first as their Messiah, but they recognized Him not. Israel rejected Christ. Since they would not accept Him, the gospel was extended "to the nations" meaning the Gentiles.
Acts 13:46 Acts 28:28, Isaiah 45:22 to name a few.

Then why did Jesus say this?
Mark 16:
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
And it also explains the story of Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10.
Jesus was sent to the Jews to fulfill prophecy but he was the savior of all men who believe. God's plan has worked out perfectly and the evidence is what you see today. God hand picked Paul to propagate it even more because Paul's understanding of Scripture was unparalleled.

this is why i love Islam...and why i left Judaism! I believe that God would like all of his creation to worship him, forget abt race or culture or anything like that! The Quran forbids racism, and accepts anyone who wishes to accept God and his laws.
I'm not so sure about what ur saying about jesus here, though, because i dont know the context of those sentences, and religious books are dangerous when sentences are taken out of context =(

Daniel 9:24 Â Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Read this carefully. It is a prophecy of the coming of CHRIST.
I can make this message rather lengthy. I recommend this website that can explain the details much better than I can. It contains illustrations to help in understanding the details.
GOD bless

Jesus spoke this parable:
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
I think he may have been predicting what would happen. And we are the people that could be found, both the good and bad.

For "salvation" is of the Jews. What is savlation, is it not the saving of something or one.
What did the Jews need to be saved from. Are you like the Jews, We have our law and our law says he should die.
A good tree can not produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can not produce good fruit. Judge good and evil by it's fruit.
You will not believe the truth, so do it this way. List all the bad things Moses did according to the teachings of Jesus.
