SPIRIT brothers whose characters and purposes are so utterly opposed

On first hearing, the doctrine that Lucifer and our Lord, Jesus Christ, are brothers may seem surprising to some—especially to those unacquainted with latter-day revelations. But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers. Jesus Christ was with the Father from the beginning. Lucifer, too, was an angel “who was in authority in the presence of God,” a “son of the morning.” (See Isa. 14:12; ) Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer’s older brother. (See Col. 1:15; )

Not any more weird then the trinity if you ask me. THAT is weird. So I guess we both have beliefs that the other can consider weird. I could go on. Like the belief that God is everywhere at once yet nowhere at all. Do you see my point? It's a different culture. While believe in a huge incomprehensible and unknowable God, we believe in a very simple, God who would want nothing more than for us to know and understand him.

I'm not sure what you mean by "half brother". We're all spiritual children of our heavenly Father. You, me, Christ and Lucifer. So technically we're all brothers and sisters. Remember, I said us Mormons believe things in very simple terms. God is the Father, and Christ is his son. Two distinct personages.

Half brothers? For that to happen, they'd both have to be born as mortals. Well this is where that statement is inaccurate. Christ was born in the flesh, son of God and a mortal mother. But Lucifer on the other hand was never born. His rebellion in heaven denied him that privilage.

Why is it that Anti-Mormons always like to bring up the fact that we believe Jesus and Lucifer were brothers, as if it is some strange thing, and yet they never complain that we teach Jesus is our brother? God is the Father of spirits (Heb 12:9). All of us, Jesus and Lucifer included, are spirit children of God; that means we are all brothers and sisters, children of a divine being. We all existed with God prior to the creation of the Earth; we even shouted for joy at its creation (Job 38:4-7). One of our Father's children (Lucifer) rebelled and took one third of the host of heaven with him during a war of words (Rev 12). God kicked Satan and his followers out of heaven (Rev 12:9 , Isa 14:12); I guess you could say that Lucifer was also kicked out of the family of God, and was effectively disowned. Since then it has been his intention to deceive people and spread evil across the world, in an attempt to destroy God's plan.

Now, let me ask, is it crazy to adopt the belief that Jesus and Lucifer could be related? Is it crazy to think that Jesus and Lucifer share the same Father? We know that many of God's children follow all kinds of different paths; some of us are very good people, some are downright evil, and others fall somewhere in between. Therefore, it is not illogical to suppose that one of God's spirit children could be evil, as was Lucifer. Furthermore, if Lucifer was created by God, that would mean that God is his Father, by virtue of being his creator; if Lucifer is in this sense a son of God, and Jesus is also a Son of God, would that not then make them brothers? The only other choice is to suppose that Lucifer was not created by God at all, but came from somewhere else; but if this were the case I don't know why he would have been dwelling in heaven with the rest of us prior to his expulsion.

All of these 'so called authorities on Mormonism, are so full of BS, it is funny! The LDS member is the only guy with the right to answer!!
Just where do you people think spirits, or souls come from? Or do they, like god, just hang around the stars, or universe waiting for a certain time frame, for things to happen?
I don't know what is true. or isn't, but this makes as much sense as anything else I have heard Christians spout!
Get off of them, and find another church to pick on!
anti Mormons are a sorry lot! no guts at all! Hit and run,@sshol*s!
I hate cowards!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that the Father in Heaven is literally the Father of all spirits first. Jehovah, or Jesus Christ, was His first spiritually born Son. The rest of us came after, which included Lucifer, because we are all sons and daughters of God the Father. That makes us all brothers and sisters.

Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, but He is also our Elder Brother. Don't confuse the spiritual offspring of God the Father with His Only Begotten in the flesh, Jesus Christ.

There! You have it from a Mormon who knows.

half brother, that's a new one.

before we were born into mortality, our spirits were "conceived" by our Heavenly Father. We are ALL "spirit brothers and sisters".

Lucifer, however, was disowned. He is no longer anyone's brother, spirit or otherwise.

And NO one was EVER equal to Jesus Christ. Especially Lucifer.

a million. specific! 2. No, some human beings could view it as that. i'm my husbands significant different, in the scriptures it says that a guy and his spouse our one, and incredibly could desire to be one to acquire exaltation. a guy can not enter the utmost kingdom of God and not utilising a spouse (whom he loves of course) And a girl can not enter the two and not utilising a husband. 3.i'm specific we are in a position to % how many spirit toddlers we are in a position to have. Heavenly Father has spirit infants US! And sooner or later the international will end because of the fact each and every of the spirit infants have come. Plus our bodies our perfected, I doubt we are able to stand an identical annoying circumstances as on the earth. Who knows perhaps we are in a position to snap a finger and a toddler is born. This in basic terms happens as quickly as we grow to be gods and goddesses. 4. No despite in the event that they could each and every thing is suited in Heaven, so no person might provide a crap. To have a spouse you're able to desire to be sealed to them on the earth, which in our church you are able to in basic terms be sealed to one individual, till you divorce then you somewhat get re-sealed to a distinctive individual. 5. perhaps not an exalted guy yet went via some thing such as what we are dealing with on the earth. something specific! 6. The Lamanites have been cursed, yet then they grew to grow to be an incredible human beings and the Nephites grew to grow to be wicked. Jeez lady have been cursed with having to furnish painful start, does not recommend something. 7. Gods spirit entered Mary. we are ALL Gods spirit infants lucifer inclluded! Jesus grow to be the 1st born. 8. No yet in the e book of mormon there is talk of an incredible abominable church. 9. Hahaha no we desire 12 secret hand shakes, our secret undies, and we could desire to constantly be loose masons. 10. i don't be attentive to approximately this one.

If you understand the family and that all that is created is God's then it is understandable.

No Jesus and Lucifer are not half brothers. They are full brothers.

Jesus is the Only begotten Son of God in the Flesh.

If Satan was kicked out of heaven, how did he get up there?

Logically speaking if Lucifer was kicked out of heaven and the only ones that lived in heaven were those who God created. Thus Jesus or Jehovah and Satan have to be brothers, just like Jesus is our older Brother, so is Satan.

It just takes a little faith.
