To add a bit of info to what David said above - avoid "grey market" Nikon cameras and lenses. Nikon will only repair & support equipment that has been officially imported. If your camera or lens is "grey", they won't touch it, in or out of warranty.

I'd suggest Ritzcameras.com, Adorama.com, BHphotovideo.com, or Cameta Camera on Ebay. Cameta sells new and demo Nikon cameras, but all are official imports.

I hope this is helpful.

According to www.resellerratings.com they have a 75% approval rating. That really isn't great. Check out B&H or Adorama or Cameta Camera before buying from these guys. B&H is the premier honest mail order vendor. I wouldn't hesitate an instant to buy from them. They are usually very competitive. If their prices are slightly higher I still buy from them for the piece of mind knowing what I ordered will show up exactly as I ordered it with no problems.

Just make absolutely positively certain it has a USA warranty and is not a "Factory Refurbished" camera unless you're okay with that.
