If I were to say that my God forbids all heterosexual relationship, sex, etc, and if you do any of these acts, he will condemn you to eternity and hell. (Again, hypothetical, I don't think this). Let's say my beliefs are shared with my other high power politicians, and there was little opposition. Would it be okay for me to create laws restricting the rights of heterosexuals? I mean, it's MY religious beliefs, and I think it's immoral to do otherwise.

Apply this hypothetical situation to the United States today.

@Suzi: I guess there is a reason why you only have 1% best answer... since your answers are terrible!

Not only do you show closed minded you are, but you show how superior you think you really are to everyone else. Thank you for leaving a lasting impression of what a real Christian is upon myself.

I put Christ before others beliefs in false prophets, and false Messiah's. Those who worship the one who has led much of the world astray from the 7th century to now, and who murder by the doctrine of their Little Book, are counted last to me.

No one has the right to restrict anyone else's rights...that must be left up to a higher power and no one here can do anything more than speculate, according to their beliefs, as to what that judgment would be.
Homosexuals do have rights but they are not content with that; they want special dispensation and accolades for their lifestyle choices, which, of course, is rather obnoxious. Do what you want to do, no one is stopping you, and as to homosexual marriages, you already have civil unions, so enjoy.
It seems homosexuals are not content unelss they are in the spotlight, and many, many homosexuals are heterophobic...not only the other way around as is commonly perceived.
Enough already.

Unfortunately in the US you have this whole idea about "Freedom of Religion", which allows all kinds of prejudice and bigotry to take place on the basis that it involves someones religious beliefs, which apparently are beyond criticism.
I think you need to take another crack at the whole "separation of church and state" thing.
I remember hearing about a student who was banned form wearing a t-shirt that said "Abortion is murder! Islam is a lie! Homosexuality is a sin!" and ended up suing his school and winning. Freaking ridiculous.

Our Lord Jesus Chist said absolutely nothing about sexual relationships but he went to a wedding so he clearly enjoyed a drink and bite to eat and a disco.
Dont tar Christian Fundementalists with the same narrow minded bigotry as Islamic fundementalists, Mohammet said 20 times more than Christ. Jesus gave some sound guidelines, Mohammet said which hand to wipe your backside with, thats the difference.

It wouldn't be immoral if you really thought that way. But in America I think many politics cherry pick the bible to pass laws for their own benefits and not because they think its right,

the whole gay people being sinners thing is complete bull$#!T. supposedly god makes everybody but then if it was true then he had something to do with their sexualities. and if he didnt make them, its still not their fault because they dont choose to be gay.

plain and simple, no I dont put my religious beliefs(or lack there of) before other people's beliefs.
