Jimmie and Jeff and Jr will be in the same equipment, but its also about teams as well, and luck, and skill...Jr should be right up there with them next yr, only time will tell, and lets not forget the other driver Casey Mears on the team, this has been his first yr at HMS, so he can factor in as well next yr.. I can not wait to see how this all plays out..One thing for sure Jr will not get having all these blown motors that he has had this yr.. I'm looking forward to it and the results...He can only get better....
Go Dale Jr & HMS

So Jr is going to HMS, big deal. As long as he has same crew chief, it won't be any different. It all comes down to your crew chief is & the driver of the car. I still don't see why so many people think Jr is such a great driver. Like the Janet Jackson song says " What have you (Jr) done for me lately" Win a race? No. Win a championship? No. I don't think he will pass Gordon in wins & titles like someone answered earlier. If Jr loses next year, what will the excuses be then? Jimmy & Jeff will do better than Jr next year, so will about 10 other drivers

If this is true, then Jimmie Johnson is the best driver out there for the past three years. He's in a little slump right now, but he's got more wins and has run better than Gordon for the past few years. I think it's about having the crew chief make the right calls on pit road to have the car the fastest at the end of the race.

We already know Jeff Gordon is the best driver of those three. Numbers don't lie. I don't think the equipment at DEI was inferior to Hendrick. Both Jeff and Jimmy will win more races than Jr. next year as they have historically.

I like that point i never realy thought about that...I guess it could provide information to deciding who is the better driver...Say Jr gets 5 wins next year and Gordon gets 2...People will have better back up info on saying Jr is better. In some peoples belief who hate Jeff they think Jr went there too compete against them and reveal who the real better driver is...It will be an interesting season next year = 0 Go Tony!

I don't see how it could. I feel Jr should do as good if not better than he did this year. Maybe a top 5 finish but for sure top 10. The other two will do as they always have. Each driver has a crew and not the same crew so they are only equal to a point. You know that.

First of all what are the odds? I would put money on Jimmie Johnson. He has been the best driver since he has been racing full time (since 2002) in the Winston and Nextel Cup Series. He leads all drivers in wins, top 5s, top 10s and money over that period of time. I can't see why things would be much different next year just because Jr is coming over to HMS.

One year won't do it. As to bad luck running better at one track than another, one chassis being better than another. The law of averages will even that out over time. Running the same equipment the difference in results will be a function of Driver, Crew chief and pit crew.
One year will not be enough, give them 3 years and make a decision.

Well, yes and no. Some drivers will always have a better
car at a certain track, even if they are built the same. Some
will have bad luck. And some will have better calls by the
crew chief. But all thins being the same, who's the better
driver should show.

I think we are going to see each driver get on a hot streak, get lucky all the time, and when multiple races, but then cool off and not have luck on his side. But these hot streaks come at different times for the drivers, so when Jimmy is on a winning streak all the Jimmy fans are going to say "see Jimmy is a better driver." Then Jr is going to have a winning streak, and all the Jr fans will say "see Jr is a better driver." It's hard to compare apples to apples because of this. I think we are going to see a different driver in Jr next year.
