Sometimes. When I was little I would sometimes dream about the next day, and have a deja vu about it... But most of the time when I have a prophetic dream, it is heavily symbolic, and I won't figure it out till months later, for example, I had a dream about a monkey. Turned out that the monkey was a representation of a guy I met, about 6 months later. But I was involved with him for some time before I pulled out that dream, looked at it, and figured out it was about him. The details of how I know this dream was about him are too long to go into here, but anyway, that is how it often works out for me. But it sounds like you want to know if you have a wishful dream that a guy you like will ask you out, should I offer you hope that such a thing will happen. Maybe. Maybe not. *shrug*, it could be that you are fantasizing about a crush in your dreams, or it could mean that you have unconsciously picked up signals from your crush that he is interested in you as well, and trying to work up the nerve to ask you out. we are always gathering info about our surroundings, these are subtle messages our mind processes. when we sleep, the subconscious puts it together in a format it thinks we are able to grasp. you hear of hypnosis making people remember things they think they have forgotton. we never forget, we experience what is referred to as selective remembering. like you fill up a jar with different coloured beads one colour at a time. the colours in the first layer are visible immediately, but a little sifting brings up the lower layers. when we really think hard we end up remembering stuff. likewise in our dreams, our mind already has put all the info together and reached a conclusion, then it waits for us to realise it too and throws in a visual (dreams) to help us.
