I think you are talking about this prophest of

Deuteronomy [18;18]
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

To fulfill this prophesy stress is on "like unto thee".
The prophet fulfilling this Prophesy must be like Moses(Peace be upon him).

Christians says that this prophesy refers to Jesus(PBUH) but when we analyse Jesus(PBUH) and Muhammad(PBUH) we come to know that no one other than Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) fits in this prophesy.

b) Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is like Moses (pbuh):
i) Both had a father and a mother.
ii) Both were married and had children.
iii) Both were accepted as Prophets by their people in their lifetime.
iv) Both besides being Prophets were also kings i.e. they could inflict capital punishment.
v) Both brought new laws and new regulations for their people.
vi) Both died a natural death.

Muhammad (pbuh) is from among the brethren of Moses (pbuh). Arabs are brethren of Jews. Abraham (pbuh) had two sons: Ishmail and Isaac. The Arabs are the descendants of Ishmail (pbuh) and the Jews are the descendants of Isaac (pbuh).

Words in the mouth:

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was unlettered and whatever revelations he received from God Almighty he repeated it verbatim.
Deuteronomy (18:18):
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

Moreover Muhammad (pbuh) is prophesised in the book of Isaiah:

"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned saying, ‘Read this, I pray thee’; and he saith, ‘I am not learned’.
Isaiah [29:12]

"When Archangel Gabriel commanded Muhammad (pbuh) by saying ‘Iqra’(Read or recite), he replied "I am not learned".

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon[ 5:16]

"Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehrace Bayna Jerusalem."
"His mouth is most sweet: ye, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughter of Jerusalem."

Salam

There is a more closeness to Muhammed SAW than Jesus A.s. or Esa. A.s. and if you continue this questioning you will see that it will lead them right into Muhammed SAW again and the prophet hood of Jesus... not god or son of god Astugfar'Allah Azeem.. but they don't have the will to go through that which was done by so many in so many of their books and yet it brought millions to Islam just this one Question Al hamdoullah, Takbeer! Allah Akbar!

39:69. And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord (Allâh, when He will come to judge among men) and the Book will be placed (open) and the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward, and it will be judged between them with truth, and they will not be wronged.

Jesus Christ began a new covenant after the mosaic covanent of the law. When Jesus arose from the grave the third day he forever opened the door to salvation to all who will believe, In John 3:3 The Holy Bible says, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Without Jesus you will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. Think about that. John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. No man. Unless you are born again which means Jesus has washed your sins away. On the cross at calvery he did just that. Now we have to believe in his free Gift. Eph 2:8&9, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus paid it all, all to him we owe, Jesus was the Messiah that took away the sins of the world. Now all we have to do is confess and believe. If you are ready to receive this free gift of eternal life pray this Prayer believing on Jesus, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Closer how?

Prophet Aaron (pbuh) was the Closest to Prophet Moses (pbuh)...

"He (Moses) said: 'O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, and make my affair easy for me, and loose the knot from my tongue, (that) they may understand my family; Aaron, my brother, strengthen my back by him, and associate him (with me) in my affair.'" (Quran 20:25-32)

In my opinion Muhammad pbuh is closer to Moses prophet because :
1)Both of them have biological parents mother and father.Moses raised in Egypt and Muhammad raised in Mecca
2)Both of them were appointed as prophet and messenger after they grown up
3)Both of them lived in a jahiliyah era (most of people did not believe to Allah the only one God) or polytheism
4)Both of them were given the holy books as a life guide for humans.e.g Torakh to Moses and Qur'an to Muhammad pbuh
5)Both of them have a noble task to convey the contents of the holy books to the society where they lived
6)Both of them were rejected by the people in their surrounding, because they did not want to accept the new religion
7)Both of them experienced a trial to be killed by the people who opposed them.
8)Both of them were married and had children
9)Both of them killed their enemy
10)Both of them died naturally.Moses's tombb in Palestine and Muhammad's tomb in Medinaa at Nabawi mosque
11)Both of them met Allah .Moses at Thursina hill and Muhammad when he was taken up to heaven on Israa and Mi'raj event for receiving pray instruction
12)Both of them convinced that Allah is only one no ally and no son or pure monotheism
13)Both of them received miracles from Allah among other Moses had a stick which could become a snake, broke the sea water etc and Muhammad received the most complete life guidance that is holy Qur'an
14)Both of them were accepted by Allah in heaven with other prophets and their loyal followers at each era.
15)Both of them moved to a more secure place e.g Moses moved to Palestine and Muhammad pbuh moved to Medinaa.

Muhammad (pbuh), since both he an Moses(pbuh) went up onto a mountain to recieve a message directly from God, they both had similar legal codes (they covered eating, cleanliness, foreign relations etc.), they both united a bunch of tribes (Israel and Arabia), they both waged war on an enemy city, and various other reason I can't list here.

Jesus (pbuh), was like Moses, but not as much as Muhammad was.

Moses and Jesus met face to face, I don't believe Moses and muhammad ever did.

Matt 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
