to arrive at the true expiration date, look at the first line of the stamp. there, you'll find a three-digit number between 001 and 365, with 1 meaning jan 1 and 365 meaning dec 31 eggs will keep four to five weeks after the date they were placed inside the carton
dissolve four teaspoons of salt in two cups of water. an old egg will float in this solution and a fresh one will sink . if the egg hovers somewhere in the middle, it's not particularly fresh but is safe to eat' the test works because as a egg matures, it loses water and the air buble inside expand, making it float

Yes, uncooked eggs can go bad. It does take a pretty long time for them to do so. The yolk in the shell starts to harden and it makes a clear coat over the yolk. But yeah, they do spoil.

Weeks at room temperature, months in the fridge as long as there are no cracks in the shell. If they look and smell ok, they are ok. Spoiled eggs have a very nasty smell and the egg will fall apart when you remove it from the shell.

They tend to loose quality and when you store it warm it will go bad.
Tested this myself:
I have kept an egg in storage (fridge) for months. When I opened it there was just a bit of goo left that smelled not bad at all. I got this from a 'grandmothers tip book' as a cure for burns. It actually helped.

Yes, eggs DO spoil. Always check the expiration date on the carton. You may have to search for it -- some brands print the date on the outside of the carton, some print it on the inside.
