My dad's birthday is coming up and I really want to get him something religious and meaningful.
Does anyone know of any truthful Christian movies with lots of value to them?
...Or any really great Christian T-shirts?

Thank you!

My favorite Christian movie was The Hiding Place. It's a true story of a Dutch woman named Cory Tenboom. Her father owned a watch store in Holland during world war ll. They hid many Jews from the Germans and got them out of the country to safety. They were finally caught and sent to a concentration camp. The book is their true story. It has inspired me very much. They had such faith and risked their lives to save others.

I do, I do! Do you remember that movie The Bridge over the River Kwai? Well, that was a true story but Hollywood left out a hugely important point --- one of the main guys was a Christian whose unbelievable selflessness caused many of the other guys in the prison camp to turn to Christ. A Christian remade the movie as it really happened a few years ago and it is called:

To End All Wars

It also has a strong theme of forgiveness and how unforgiveness will eat you alive. The guy who wrote the true story of this in a book was named Ernest Gordon. He later became the dean of Princeton Chapel and held that position for like 50 years, until his death. He was one of the guys who became a Christian because of the American Christian who was in the camp.

You can take a peeksee at his story here:

It is a really good guy movie, too, because it's about WWII, prisoners of war, etc! Btw this movie is incredibly well made. Unlike many of the mediocre films that we as Christians unfortunately put out, this movie beautifully filmed, directed and acted.

I have 3 sons (ages 14, 13, & 5). There's a new movie that just came out on DVD that the whole family loves! It's called "Facing the Giants" or "Face the Giants". It's deeply moving & exciting, and it's story line revolves around a football coach & his team. This movie is a winner!!!

A friend made me up a teeshirt that had a Tommy Hilfiger kind of logo on it, only instead it said "Johnny Hellfighter". If your Dad's name can end in a Y you can make on on the computer.

I like Family Christian. Facing the Giants was a great movie. So is Invincible and Remember the Titans and We are Marshall.

I like US Football, so sue me.

Passion of the Christ, Facing the Giants. Go to Hallmark or any Christian store. Hallmark has some really really cool ones.

I would recommend "The Mission." It's a beautiful movie, very well written and well acted, and the soundtrack is wonderful.

It's about Jesuit priests defending their mission in the South American jungles. It examines different issues of faith, and how people react differently to oppression. It's just great all around.

Good luck, and tell your dad "happy birthday" for me! :)
