I am on the fence as to wether or not I should get a wedding consultant for day of wedding duties. Has anyone had experience with wedding consultants for day of wedding coordinating only? Or will I be able to successfully delegate these misc. wedding day tasks to bridesmaids, etc. ? I have never been married before, and not been in wedding parties either, so I have no clue. We are on a pretty tight budget - paying for the wedding ourselves (total budget for the wedding day is less than $10K). Thanks for your input.

Since you are on a tight budget, I would say you need to delegate some responsibilities to family members. You will need the bridesmaids there to help you during the wedding day. Have a trusted family member(s) meet the vendors and take care of business so that your mom and bm's can be there to help you.

I personally think wedding planners are worth the money that you pay for them, because I am one. Also, because I know how hard I work to make everything run smoothly. But there are times when brides simply cannot afford having a wedding planner and in those instances it is better that they use their money elsewhere and make sure they cover all bases, having a family member or friend take care of the wedding day details.

Just to make check prices for wedding consultants in your area. Go to www. theknot.com and look at some of the wedding consultant websites to see if they have their prices listed for day of wedding coordination.

Most consultant will offer a package for just the day of the wedding. Or they will have an hourly rate. It depends on your area but I think the average is $35 per hour.

This web site is hepful in finding vendor info, make some calls and see who can give you the best deal.

You can call around and get prices!
If you don't find anything that's in your price range, let me know, and I can send you a to do list for that day, and you can appoint bridesmaids, and relatives to get them done!!! Good luck, and happy planning!!!
