They are part of the same being. Jesus is the "person" part of the tri-une, or trinity.
Think of this.
Clouds, Water and Ice- 3 phases of the same element.

Yes the Old Testament confirms there is only One God not 3 in 1 as the Roman Catholics began teaching. Jesus is God revealed in the Old Testament as Jehovah, and in the New Testament as Jesus, and to the Church He has come into our hearts as the Holy Spirit. In Johns Gospel we see that Jesus created the earth, in Genesis it says the Spirit of God moved and God spoke all into being. So Jesus is the same God not a lesser part.

Straight and to the point:
They cant be the same person because many times Jesus mentions that God is greater than he is.
John 14:28
John 20:17 - in this verse Jesus mentions that he himself also has a God, which is his father.

Hi Hot One.
Yes, God & Jesus are one. They are, with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity.
That's why, when we pray, we say, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen."
The Holy Trinity is the Christian Godhead, as God in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
They are all one, yet they are still separate. There is the Father. Then there is His Son, Jesus, whom God sent to earth, incarnate, to save us. God then also sent His Holy Spirit down to earth to bless His Apostles.
Jesus said, "if you know me, then you know Him. If you do not know Him, you do not know me."
God, as a deity, can do anything He wants. He chose to be known as the Holy Trinity.
"One God, indivisible, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
---------------
Yet, on another level, they are different, but the same; more to the point, separate, but the same.
In the beginning, God and Jesus were together. Jesus is the Son of God, yet God implies that they are the same:
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;...."
The key word is "Our," implying that They are the same.

No, Jesus was with God in the beginning. Jesus is the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Jesus even refers to Himself as the Son of God. Jesus told His disciples that He was going to sit at the right hand of the Father. What makes them one is their ultimate goal and belief in the same thing, truth, righteousness, Godliness, love. Which makes us one with God if we have the same issues.

Jesus:The only-begotten Son of God, the
God: The supreme Being, whose distinctive name is Jehovah.
1Cor. 8:5,6 "Although there may be s0-called gods in heave or on earth-as indeed there are many 'gods and many 'lords'-yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, though whom are all things and through whom we exist."
(This presents the Father as the "one God" pf Christians and as being in a class distinct from Jesus Christ.)
1Pet. 1:3 "Blesses be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!" (Repeatedly, even following Jesus' ascension to heaven, the scriptures refer to the Father as "the God of Jesus Christ.
At John 20:17, following Jesus resurrection, he himself spoke of the Father as "my God." Later, when in heaven, as recorded at Revelation 3:12, he again used the same expression. But never in the Bible is the Father reported to refer to the Son as "my God", nor does either the Father or the Son refer to the holy spirit as "my God.")

God is Jesus. God was manifested in the flesh.
Do one thing for me, please pray about this and stop asking people. I struggled with this same things 5 years ago and was tormented by it until I starting praying about it.
God Bless You!
