I would like to know how many of the people that are so worried about global warming, knows anything at all about the SUN and how the SUN'S activities effect the temperature of the earth? I don't think anyone should trash the earth or waste its resources, but I also think the Sun is responsible for a good portion of Global Warming. If what we are doing is the direct cause of Global Warming, how do you explain the last Ice Age and the Thaw of the Last Ice Age. Educate yourself and read what all the different theory's and causes are. It will enlighten you.

To care about global warming and other environmental issues is about compassion because it will always be the poor who suffers the most. I thought that's what Jesus wants from us?

I suggest you go and do some more studies on global warming and what it may mean for poor people in Africa and Asia (it will affect everyone, but they will be hit the hardest) Right now, I don't think your attitude makes a good Christian example.

To the person who mentioned "The Great Global Warming Swindle". Please read some scientific responses to it here (PDF):

Despite what any fanatical religious belief is telling you, we are still the most likely cause of the "end of the world". Global warming may only lead to a mass extinction, but a war between any two of these countries will result in the "end of the world":

united states, russia, china, france, and UK

these are the five permanent UN security council members and the only nations who posses hydrogen bombs and the missiles to fly them any where in the world in less than 30 minutes.

in your lifetime an all out nuclear exchange is a far more likely event than any natural disaster, like an asteroid impact.

I do not argue that there may be global warming- it has happened in cycles thru the ages. There have been ice ages followed by warm periods. In any case there is nothing we can do about it- and I do not worry about it either. To think that humans can control a huge planet is absurd. First it was propellants, then methane, now fossil fuels-nobody knows why but the polar ice is slowly receding. Let's encourage people to clean up their own personal surroundings- that may be doable.

think again... you only watched ten minutes of it.. says something about you. I'm glad your concerned about everyone and everything else that lives on this planet enought to care about the enviroment they live in. God gave us this earth so we could live on it...not trash it. Even if you don't believe in global warming you can still do things to make the earth cleaner which are some of the same things that go along with putting a stop to global warming. SO if you cant drive a smaller car or be enviromentally concious for your future generations... do it for yourselves. You should try hugging a tree. Not everyone who has a passion for nature is a hippie. They are your neighbors and your friends... they care... why can't you

I just saw a very interesting documentary that has the opposite opinion of Al Gore. It was called "The Great Global Warming Swindle". It takes the opinion that people aren't causing it and it's natural based on the sun's activity. The science in it is actually a lot more convincing than in Al Gore's movie, where he basically says "Look, it goes up!". You might like it.

I figure as Christians we are supposed to take care of the earth, as God told Adam and Eve, but I've also read that letting people take care of earth is the same as telling a 2 year old to clean up their closet. We'll try, but I don't think we're smart enough to do it.

Why call yourself a Christian? You obviously are not a Christian. A Christian would not speak in such a rude, spiteful, and mean way to people who have done him no harm. SHAME on you, for taking the Lord's name in vain!

You sound like one of these wannabe bullyboy deniers (because you mention Al Gore).

The world may very well end from us and what have done to pollute it. Global warming is a very real thing to worry about because it could kill us all at some point. If you want to ignore it and pretent that it doesn't exist or that you are above it, be my guest, you will only be hurting the environment more.

The money that is in "global warming" is good. People can sell their science for millions.

And people love a good scare. It give their otherwise dull life some excitement.
