If they have a valid judgment any money in the account will be used to pay your debt. Judgments can sometimes be renewed 10 years at a time. If they don't have a judgment the bank wouldn't hold the funds for them.

ask the attorney if it has been cleared--charged off by the bank because the debt is so old. If not, pay it, or call the credit card company and arrange pay off over time or ask them to charge it off. As soon as the lien is cleared one way or another, your balance of your account that is blocked will be released to you by your bank.

I'm not sure which state you are in but, the statue of limitation most likely has expired. So, they shouldn't have been able to get a judgement against you unless you didn't show up for court.
