Double warranty would only be 12 years bumper to bumper, the 10yr warranty is just on the powertrain. The question is will this dealer honor that extended warranty you are quoting them as having, it has nothing to do with Hyundai. Maybe they also jack up the price to basically cover the cost of the extended warranty? If not and they are a company that has a good reputation and has been in business a while then its a no-brainer to buy your vehicle from them.

RE:
Hyundai Warranty?
There's a Hyundai dealer around my house that doubles the normal warranty to a 20 year 200,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty. It kinda makes it hard to resist to not get a car there. Has anyone had a Hyundai that's broken down and used the warranty? Do they hassle you about it, or do they...

I would strongly recommend that you check into this so called longer warranty. My guess would be that there is a catch. Im assuming somewhere in the mounds of paperwork that you will have paid for it. Also, I owned a Hyundai in the past and it was one of the worst cars I have ever experienced. And I have owned many. It was in the shop more than it was on the road. No joke! I was constantly fighting with the dealership over it. Dont believe that they will fix everything that goes wrong with the car. I was so fed up with it that I traded it in on a Toyota and hoped that they wouldnt experience the problems on their test drive!! I have a friend that owned one as well and hers was also broke down all the time. Beware that the timing belts are programmed to go by 60,000 miles and if you dont have it replaced and your pistons go you are not covered!! I would strongly recommend a better car. Nissan, Toyota, Honda are all great cars. I know Hyundai's are on the cheaper side, but you get what you pay for.

Sorry the 10yr/100k warranty is for original owners only. When you purchased this car you were entitled to a 5yr OR 60k mile warranty whichever comes first. Given that you are over the mileage you do not have any factory warranty on this car however I would advise you to call your selling dealer and ask if there was an extended warranty billed into the deal when you purchased it, there may be one. Stranger things have happened. Hope this helps.

never heard of that-do they have some kind of special warranty of their own. do they have it in writing what exactly this warranty covers and what you have to do to keep it in effect. i know they have extended warranties that cost extra. Hyundai corporate does not have a regular warranty like that-go to the hyundai website and you will find out.

I would definetely get the car..it is a great product..one of the best and most afordable..as for the extended warranty...ask your self..if you will actually be keeping your new car anytime longer than 5 years or even putting more than 100 k miles on it before you decide to get a newer car. other wise you will just be throwing away about 2 thousand dollars on that extended warranty that you will not use

you must maintain your vehicle. keep proof of maintence. it doesn"t have to be a hyundai dealer who takes care of it as long as you have proper records.

They're pretty cool about the warranty. They fix it besides the paper work.
