You dream several times a night, you just don't remember your dreams. The frequency with which you recall your dreams can come and go in cycles, there are some years in my dream log that I haven't recorded any dreams, and other years where I have recorded dozens. I am also finding through personal experience that the dreaming and recollection experience is affected by things like health issues and nutrition and such.... I have lately been working on nutritional issues, and finding that I am sleeping much better the last few weeks than I have in years, and my dream recall is improving as well. I think that might also have something to do with being on this forum as well though, since I am spending more time now thinking about dreams in general....

Dreams happen during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep which cycles throughout the night. If you happen to wake up during, or right after the REM cycle, the dreams are fresh in your mind and easier to remember. Some people theorize that the dreams you don't remember are purposefully blocked from your memory because your conscious mind is not ready to deal with concepts that may have been introduced in your dream.

Everybody dreams every night. I know I dream every night and like you usually I don't remember dreaming anything. I attribute that to a boring dream. Someimes I just remember minor details. Its the good ones that stick with us when we wake up.

u always have dreams, but u don't remember them sometimes,
u may not be paying enough attention to ur dreams
or the opposite
u may be resolving the issues so quickly that u don't need to deal with them again at night

Maybe your sleeping patterns have changed. Are you a light sleeper now. My experience has been that the deeper my sleep is the more dreams i have. When i sleep light i don't get any dreams.
