and if I do I can not remember them.
My family says I constantly scream and yell in my sleep.
Like every night, no one really knows what I am saying but I guess I am yelling out alot of obscene things. I recently had a nightmare that involved killing and death but this is it. This has been going on for over a year now. Please serious advice.

Thank you Dream Doc- when you find time, I think you may have hit it on the head. The death and killing was that my son's father shot him in the head. Yes I have had trauma a little over a year ago and some recent between April and now. What can I do about this?

Night Terrors, Hmm. No one in my house is scared though when I scream out. Just annoyed I think.

Post-traumatic stress syndrome would be my diagnosis. With this going on for a year, I would have to say that something has happened that was very traumatic for you. What you are seeing may not necessarily be dreams as much as flashbacks of the actual event.

My suggestion would be to get some counciling to deal with this situation. I myself suffer from PTSS although I have learned to deal with it in a more constructive manner. I don't have the flashbacks as often and I try to restrain myself from focusing on it. Out of sight, out of mind.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Just remember you aren't alone.

Besides the interpretation given by Dream Doc that seemed to nail what you are trying to work out in your sub-concious, you are experiencing what is called "Night Terrpr" a real syndrome. You might want to visit a sleep center and get this taken care of. Some people can do real harm or begin to sleep walk..... besides scare everyone in the house.

You dream all the time, you just don't remember most of your dreams, most of us don't remember the majority of our dreams, but we have them several times a night. As for why you are screaming and yelling in your sleep, well, it could be stress, it could be a repressed memory from some sort of trauma, it could be night terrors...you should consider talking to a therapist about it....

Yelling and scream in dream symbolizes some losing control in your life. That also suggests you have some fear. And that fear stores in your subconscious mind. It means you subconsciously want to hide that feeling in reality.

Projecting killing and death shows sign of release of anger, and release of hatred. There may be some thing you feel disrespected. Or you may be looking for some understanding in reality. Perhaps, you don't get it, that is why you vent this out dream.

In your case just like many others, they can't suppress their feeling, so their mind connected to their body and therefore you scream it out in dream. In translation, you are in lack of control somehow when it comes to your fear subconsciously
