Who is responsible to buy the flower girl dresses?
When should I register at stores like JC Pennys and Belk? (Getting married in June)

There is a dress at DB for a flower girl that is identical to mine. Should the girls wear dresses that match mine exactly or should I get them something a little different and less expensive. (the ones like mine are $135)(is that high for a FG dress??)

Just as with a bridesmaid, the person IN the wedding is responsible for buying her own attire. With a flower girl, her parents are responsible for buying it. So, take that into consideration with the cost. If you know they are poor, then I wouldn't pick a dress over $100. There are really cute dresses you can get even from department stores. But if you don't think money is an issue for them, then I would choose one that coordinates w/ yours.

When you register, you want to consider the things you'll be asking for and the wallets of your guests. My husband and I registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Target. I'm so glad we registered at Target. They have some really cute home stuff and the quality is great if you ask for the good stuff. Plus, when people were stumped for ideas, they would just buy us gift cards to Target. Let me tell you....those were SOOOO helpful as we started out because we could use them to buy groceries, toilet paper, anything! :) If you're going to register for fine china, I recommend going with an upscale department store such as Macy's. We registered with BBB because we wanted more upscale, higher quality bedding and kitchen items. The registry is the time to ask for higher priced items than you'd normally spend on yourself because most people will spend between $75-100.

Definitely the parents of the flower girl buy the dress. No her dress doesn't have to match yours exactly, but if that is what you want then go for it.

You should register at least 3-4 months before the wedding so that whoever throws your shower can spread the word where you are registered. We had a blast registering, and it really didn't take that long. We registered at Sear and they gave us a pricing gun and we got to scan all the things we want. At crate and barrel we just wrote it all down as we browsed through the store. I would go sooner rather than later.

Good luck!

the flower girl dress should be purchased by the family of the flower girl ... and hers should like yours ... for the bridesmaids, I would say go with different styles because the same style doesn't always look good on everyone.
Registering for gifts can take place at any time ... it's time consuming so you may want to start on it now ... if you getting married in June, I would say make sure you are registered no later than March ... but if stores feel it's too early go in and write down what it is you want so you can keep to your list when you can register.

This is a very good site with some absolutely adorable dresses in all size ranges for kids. I can attest to the quality and have directed at least 5 people to them for flowergirl and special occasion dresses and each one could not believe how great the dresses were for the price. Go through all the pages, there are some 'miniature bride' dresses that are just fantastic - many brides wished they could get their own gowns this nice!

Traditionally the parents pay for the dress and accessories. That being said if you want to get them jewelry or anything for their head/hair or gloves, that would be your responsibility.

As far as registering, I would definitely have it out of the way at least 2-3 weeks prior to sending out any shower invitations. Many companies will give you 'cards' to insert in to the invitations so that your invitees will know where to look for your lists.

Good Luck!

I registerd 3 months before the wedding. As for the flower girl The grooms family paid for the flowers and the brides paid for the dress.

The flower girls mother usually pays for the dress for the flower girl. Recently my 3 little girls were asked to be flower girls and I was stressing so much about the cost of their dresses. But my niece just took them to MYER and we got three pretty dresses for under $100 each. They were pure silk with organza overlayers and pink silk roses around the boddice. Just gorgeous. They just wore little pink jiffy slippers on their feet.
When we were paying for the dresses the bride wanted to pay so we ended up going halves. As the mother I was prepared to pay for the whole thing tho.
Sorry I cant help with the registry thing....I am not a fan of them.

There is no set rule for who buys what these days - however if you wanted the flower girl and want a certain dress, then you should offer to pay.
It took my wife two full days to fill in the registry. You want it completed at the time you send the invites - so the registry card can be added. So probably three to four months prior.

The parents of the flower girl are responsible for buying her dress. You should register a few months ahead of time for people that are from out of town to send ahead of time, and also so people who are coming from out of town know what you want

Their parents.
register shortly after you become engaged, that way if your guests want to bring a gift to any of the "pre-wedding" parties or showers, they can get ideas from your registry.
