My mom mentioned she would like a digital camera for Christmas. I'm at a loss as to which one would be right for her. It pretty much has to be extremely user friendly and good quality. She's somewhat familiar with using them but I want to make sure that she can use it and not bug the person next to her, asking if she doing it right.

Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance!

Here is the best advice I got when I asked the same question as you did:

Buy a reasoably priced Digital that will be easy to use, one that gives great pictures and does NOT cost a lot.

If you buy a 2x Optical zoom you will be disappointed later on.

If you buy a 10x 3 lb. camera you won't use all the rechnology it possesses.

Vut if you buy a CANON A430 you will get a camera that automatically takes sharp clear pictures, wonderful closeups and will cost you onl;y about $100. I bought one and just love it. I put in two lithium double A batteries 6 months ago and have taken 200 pictures without any change in batteries.

The flash is great .It weighs only a few ounces, fits easily in a man's short pocket. I bought a case for mine at the DOLLAR store and this keep the camera clean and protected.

I can enlarge my pictures to postcard size with NO GRAIN.

CANON has great support with free phone service and is world wide known.

But whatever you buy don't go overboard. And enjoy! Ron

Perhaps you should buy her a Gift Certificate and let her choose one she feels most comfortable with. I'd suggest one from a real camera store - not a store that sells 10,001 other
things and cameras. Then she'll have access to someone knowledgeable. Some camera stores even offer an hour or so of instruction with the purchase.

you didnt mention anything about your budget . anyways , I'd go with a medium priced one and say get her a Sony Cybershot W35 7.2MP Digital Camera or a Samsung NV3 7.2MP Digital Camera . Both are awesome .

Definitely virtual digicam. It regularly has higher lens than digicam mobilephone. Number of Mpix is much less main than lens, suppose. Digital digicam has additionally higher developed-in application than digicam mobilephone.
