My dad loves the Gators and I don't really fancy them too much (most of the fans are cocky). He always tries to get me to go to their games, but I really have zero interest in them. Besides, I go to USF (Go Bulls!). Both my brother and sister have attened or are still attending UF, so Im a bit of the black sheep I suppose. Anyways, lately he seems like he has an attitude towards me or something, which kind of worries me a bit. We never had a really open relationship with each other. He was always so hard to talk to when I was young and still is hard to talk to.

Can anyone give me some kind of insight? Anything at all, seriously!

Ask ur mom. I am sure ur dad talks to her. But maybe he is just disappointed b/c he never was able to get close to u. People act strange when they feel bad or like they are missing out on something. But u2 should find something u have in common!! Ur family!! hahaha. But really I am sure it's not as much about the Gators as it is about ur relationship.

I understand your feeling towards UF fans. I have a small family and both of my cousins went there and thought it was the greatest place on God's green earth. I went to Drake in Des Moines, IA. Needless to say our sports don't hold up to UF standards.

Just fake some interest. Example, check the box scores on Sunday from the Saturday games and throw some mundane stats at your dad. If he is acting strange if you're not painting your face orange and blue, then I'd say he's the one with the problem.

I've known fathers and sons who were close where one was a Yankee fan, and the other liked the Red Sox!!! It would be absolutely ridiculous if liking different teams had a real impact on your relationship. If this is a real concern, I would not only try to talk to your father, but to your mother and siblings as well.

Well I certainly hope that if your father has an issue with you, that it isn't over your lack of support for his favourite team.

Whatever it is that is bothering him you'll have to ask him.
But what I find with people when they are angry a lot of the time, is that whatever their behaviour is toward me, the root of their anger has nothing to do with me at all.
