What is a bleed on file?

This is what was sent to me.

The new file you have sent in still has a lo-resolution earth logo on the front and back. Also there is no bleed on the file.

I'm making bookmarks, but it keeps getting kicked back to me because of the low resolution.

I need to fix this asap.

thanks in advance

a "bleed" is an image that stretches beyond the borders of the printed area. You are obviously using a lo-res, small image that doesn't expand to a large enough area.

If you copied the image off the internet, you may not be able to fix it with a high enough resolution to make it worthwhile. Many photographers publish pictures precisely that way to prevent theft.

If you have an original file, either "TIFF" or "JPEG" format, open it in photoshop, change the document size and resolution and save as a new file name.
