So, I eat a pack (or two) of Mentos mints every day, will this have an effect on my health? I eat them because I need to have something in my mouth, for whatever reason, I juust need to be doing something with my mouth, and they allow me to do this.

Thanks for the advice, I've tried gum but we're not really supposed to chew gum in class, this is my way of getting around the rules.

Not only might you gain weight from the sugar and junk in them, but the sugar won't do anything pretty to your teeth, too.

A week before I gave birth, I discovered some yummy all-natural suckers at Babies "R" Us. I got them because I thought I might want something, even psychologically, to eat. (I had a grape Popsicle, but I puked it up. It was probably just a reaction to the strong contractions, but my husband joked that my body was rejecting the high fructose corn syrup and the artifical junk. I think it's a combnation of both.) Anyway, natural candy can also be found at health food stores as well. I went through the habit of wanting to do something with my mouth after I quit smoking two and a half years ago. I started drinking more water and chewing my pens to death.

I hope this helps.

Fiddle girl, switch to sugar free gum and realize that sweets are suppose to be eaten sparingly; you might get away with 100 calories a day. If you don't you will probably gain weight over time. Been there done that.

mentos contain a decent amount of sugar and if you keep doing that over time the sugar and carbs will go to your belly as belly fat. this all depends on such factors as age, metablolism, exersize schedule, and eating patterns.

i alway want something in my mouth too, so i usually just have a toothpick in it or chew on a pen at work.
