OKAY MY LITTLE TEACUP CHICHI DOG HAS HAD BAD BREATH SINCE I GOT HER (2 MONTHS AGO), AND NOW THAT IM STARTING TO BRING HER AROUND, WHEN PEOPLE GET CLOSE AND SHE GETS UP FOR A KISS, HER BREATH SMELLS LIKE SOMEONE HAD DIED IN THERE.

I was always aware of this but i didnt know what to do exactly. my mind always said "JUST BRUSH HER TEETH LIKE U WOULD NORMALLY". And that's what i did not too long ago, it smells better but once she goes back to eating her dog food it wont.

Im going to bring this up next time I go to the vet, it's not like she's going to die so i'll just do so then. But in the meantime...

-DO I CHANGE HER DIET?
-KNOW OF ANY TOYS/TREATS, ETC. FOR HER SIZE
-HOME REMEDIES?
-JUST KEEP BRUSHING HER TEETH?

ANY SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS ARE WELCOME

It's a dental problem.. She probably has tartar and plaque buildup on her teeth and it should definately be scraped off by a vet. Not only is she a prime candidate for gum disease, but if left unattended to, the bacteria can get into the blood stream and cause heart problems.

One way to help control it is by giving it things to chew, preferably natural dog bones...(ones processed in the U.S., not imported from China or Brazil.because they don't have the same inspection standards we do.)....for a Chi, I would recommend a patella (beef knee cap)...they are pure cartilage so they don't splinter and are the perfect size for the small dogs. I recommend the following business for any treats for your dog (I'm a long time satisfied customer)

There is NO such thing as a "teacup" anything. You got ripped off and lied to by a backyard breeder.

Take her to the vet and get her a dental.

If your feeding your dog any grocery store brand it's full of fillers, by-products, dye's, etc. Try Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul, Innova, Eagle Pack, etc.

It is time to go to the vet. There is probably food impacted under the teeth, which has probably been there for a while. This can cause many problems, like gums disease. Your pooch may need a few teeth pulled but that will be the best if that is the case. I would make a vet appointment and get it checked.

Good luck:)

I would personally take her to the vet to get a good dental cleaning done... There are treats out there that are designed to help freshen a dog's breath.. I believe they are called breath busters...

Have you checked her teeth?

Chlorophyll is a great deordorizer. (parsley on your dinner place at resteraunts) You can get in liquid & pill form at Drug Store.

Change her diet.

Could she be eating kitty puffs?

If she is licking her butt, she could need to have anals emptied.

Go to the vet. She will give you a oral product that will take the stink away.
