To visit, definitely Hawaii.
To live in, it depends on your occupation/interests/salary. We have more people leaving Hawaii to make a living as opposed to those who come to Hawaii to make a living.

Hawaii is better.. of course that depends also on what aspect your looking at..
Job availability is probably better in California.
Weather is better in Hawaii
College Opportunities are equal.
Housing.. right now, both states are outrageous.
Less Pollution.. Hawaii
Overall Prettier State .. Hawaii.

Both! I grew up in both states having family in both and also attended college in both. Undergrad in Hawaii and Grad school in Cali. Hawaii is best to learn cultural values and to learn how to accept life as it is - not be over zealous about what you don't have. Cali is best for shopping, nightlife, travel, education, and excitement. Hawaii keeps me grounded but Cali is where the fun is!

California is better. Hawaii is only good for vacations but living in Hawaii......I would NOT recommend it to anyone. No opportunities, small islands, isolated, no where to go, everything is limited. That's the price you pay for the scenery. Plus, I like seasons. Hawaii is stuck in summer.

Hawaii is great but California is better. When your in Hawaii your limited to the area and any other asian pacific country nearby. When your in Cali you have the rest of the states to travel for less money. it all depends if you want to be far from it all or near everything.

No big gang problems, (once your out of Honolulu).
No smog.
No polluted waters.
No phony people.
Better Food.
Better Drink.
Better Times.

if you are looking more toward scenery and luaus and things like that go to hawaii but if you are looking for some scenery (not as much as hawaii) and more things to do go to ca

To me, Hawaii without a doubt. I've been to both. My bro lives in Hollywood. I went to Oahu and Maui on vacation. (I live in the Detroit area.)

To live or to vacation?
I live in Hawaii. If you are looking for a vacation spot, I highly recommend the island of Kauai. It is absoltely breathtaking.
