i have this friend and we have been friends forever!! we are amazing friends, i really like him though and i think he feels the same way about me, in fact i'm pretty sure, but what can i do so we can be together but not be weird about getting to that point???

Take it seriously, really. See if you guys do share as much history as your saying then this individaul, no matter what, is important to you and who you are. So for starters its better then most as far as becoming a deep, geniune relationship, only if you maintain the purpose that made your friends in the frist place. The unconditional love, lossing sight of that WILL destory the relationship because when you bring a condition like commentment to a relationship it becomes conditional. A problem that you'll have to address to keep that "weirdness" down, and that can only be down by doing your best, and making sure he does, to be honest. I know they talk about too honest, but the truth is thats the test, if you can be honest and both parties still able to handle the relationship, nothing else can stop it, honest....
