Dogs do have larger brains than cats (Schultz & Dunbar, 2010), however mind dimension isn't a well indicator of intelligence (Purves et al., 2001). This is illustrated through the truth that neanderthals honestly had better brains than modern day people (Braun, 2008). However, the quantity of neurons within the cortex is correlated with intelligence. On this degree, cats have the abilities over puppies, with three hundred million neurons in a cat’s cortex in comparison to one hundred sixty million in a puppy's. This shows that cats have extra knowledge processing ability

Dogs are smarter in the way it's easy to train them. However, the only reasons cats don't learn as easily is because they're stubborn. Through and through, I think both of them have a lot of brains, but I'm not the one to judge them.

Judge them... that always makes me laugh when me or someone else posts it.

I think it's a lot easier to tell a dog is listening to you as you can teach it many tricks and behaviors. A cat is much more aloof to behavioral modification, it will get those treats one way or another!! While you can look at breeds for certain characteristics, every dog and cat has a unique personality. It's up to the custodian of the companion animal to get to know their pet.

Definitely NOT! I love both dogs and cats, but cats are smarter. The reason that dogs look smarter is that they do what you tell them, but the reason cats are not so obedient is not because they don't understand what you want, just that they don't feel obliged to do it.

I truly think their the same, cats are very smart but their VERY independent, they can learn tricks just like a dog if you have a LOT of patience and determination. Dogs really just do what you tell them I guess.

I love dogs too, and both cats and dogs are intelligent in their own ways.

Dogs are smart enough to do cute tricks, and learn cute ways to manipulate you :)

Cats are smart enough to be independent, and self sufficient.

Two very different scales, I wouldn't be able to compare the two.
