…Would you immediately accept the invitation and be fulfilled, or would you mock me, demean me, and call my experiences heresay, lies, delusions, or hallucinations?
For instance:
If I found a cave full of gold – so much gold that it could supply the wants and desires of millions of people many times over – and, in love, I decided to “let you in on the secret”, and came up to you saying, “HEY! You won’t believe what I have found! My bank account overflows! Come now, quick! See for yourself and freely take to your hearts desire!”
Would you come…?
Or would you just mock me, demean me, call me a liar, call me delusional, etc…
?

It depends...
Will you be offended and love me less if I didn't want your money? (Say I was just as rich but used a different currency.)
Will you judge me, or try to burn me at the stake?
Will there be free food?
If you answered no, no, and yes...then sure I will hang out with you in your cave, and maybe you can visit mine next weekend.

So what you're saying is "Hey, people who don't believe in gods, if I told you there was a god would you believe me?"
Well no, of course not. I wouldn't mock you, and I would respect that you probably had experienced what you claimed to. But I would not accept your unsupported assumption about what or who caused your experience. And why would I?
And if a stranger offered to take me to see his cave full of gold I'd decline and move away quickly.

Sure, I would come and check it out. If I saw that you actually had a cave full of gold and you were offering it to me, then I'd accept. I'm not stupid.
But if I got to the cave, and found out that I wouldn't get the gold until after I had died, or at least until after I changed my life to suit your needs, but I was never given any proof that this gold existed ... I'd pass.

Well, I would say that money is tangible and your god is not. It is a different thing, but I see how you mean it.
If I sneeze and someone says, "Bless you," I do not mock them because of the intentions behind the words.
Whereas, "Merry XMas" is the same. These people are truly wishing me well.
When a fundie on R&S baits and tries to tell me I am going to hell. Well, why not mock and demean.

Show me the gold or your bank book and I might believe you. But if I did go to check out your cave I would see, proof positive, that it was filled with gold or not.
Alternatively, if you showed me this cave and it looked empty but you kept insisting that it was full of gold - then I would call the banana truck to come pick you up.

Well, I would be skeptical, but curious. If you were offering me something that had already been offered to me, but I had already reached a good conclusion on, I would reject your offer. For example, if you came up to me and said "Santa Claus is real! He will bring you presents on Christmas Day, all you have to do is come with me and pray to Jesus" I wouldn't believe you.

First, I would respectfully decline your invitation. If you persisted in your delusion, I would usually leave the room immediately. Believers offer nothing I want any part of and I expect you to honor my wishes. If you don't, then the insults begin.

LOL! Looks like God took out everything but the part that leaves them with insolence.
Thanks for grouping them all together for us, and we didn't even have to call in the dogs.. My goodness! LOL!
72. Surah Al-Jinn (The Jinn)
1. Say (O Muhammad ): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Qur'ân)!
2. 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh).
3. 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children).
4. 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblîs (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allâh that which was wrong and not right.
5. 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allâh.
6. 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief.
7. 'And they thought as you thought, that Allâh will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns).
8. 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.
9. 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.
10. 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path.

If you wanna give me Gold, or a larger bank account, I would do nothing but shower praise upon you.
So....whats your point anyway?
If your comparing the "sharing" of you fictious faith, with the sharing of material wealth, I can only recommend that you take a course in critical thinking.

I think the key words in there might have been "See for yourself". If I could see for myself that God existed, I would believe it to be true. Whether I would worship him is a different matter, but I would believe in him. Unfortuately, I can't see for myself - there is no proof for his existence and I can think of no reason why I should believe in him on blind faith.
What is it with daft analogies this evening?
