buy him a cage, a secure one! make sure he has lots of toys toplay with and chew on! hammies get mad when they are bored!
make sure u play with ur hammie every day so it grows up to know and love u.
hammies aren't toys remember , they are living creatures and need as much love that humans need. ]
good luck and have fun with huidini!!! fabby name btw!!

You can't keep him in a cardboard box. Rodents chew. They chew through anything they can. This means: most plastics, cardboard, paper, etc. You need to get an aquarium with a wire-mesh lid, or a wire cage with thin bars it can't squeeze through. Then you need to love your hamster and take good care of it.

Hi, you might be interested to know that there is an email group on yahoo for hamster owners. You can check it out at www.yahoo.co.uk/groups.
I would always recommend a tank for hamsters, especially for any of the smaller breeds (dwarfs, roborovskiis). A nice big one will cost about £20-£30 in any pet shop chain, but they are well worth it. They will last years and usually come with all the accessories. And you can sleep peacefully at night knowing your little critter is secure in his house!
There are lots of good books and websites on hamsters, do check them out as they offer lots of useful information.
Good luck, and enjoy your pet.

get a cage that is more secure. mine chewed thru the first cage that was plastic, and got away. when i found her again, we went to buy a bigger metal rim cage that tacks on to the bottom tray. just go to a pet store and explain what happens. cute name by the way!

don't play with him outside! so many things out there that can give him an infection. Maybe if you used a plastic box he wouldn't be able to escape. He can't bite through that but make sure it's not too low. He can jump on his house or wheel and jump out.

Get him a proper cage, a hamster ball for free roaming, and some food and water.
