I have started to live in Istanbul a year ago. I teach English. I met couple of Turkish girls but unfortunatelly they seem to like my passport instead of my personalty. I have ended my previous relationship coz of this reason but she stuck on me like a glu...Never endless phone calls day and night. I can not just get rid of her. What do you suggest me to do?

It depends on the guy and the girl. I know of a few marriages between various nationalities. Just like any situation, there are some that are flings and some are life long partners. Marriages between different nationalities do bring up some unique problems, but they are very much possible. And it all depends on the one guy and the one girl.

Maybe she really likes you... Maybe you are thinking she likes where you are from more than who you are, because you don't like her anymore... Maybe you just need to tell her that you are not in love with her anymore; instead of trying to talk negatively about her. I believe, we all tend to attribute negative qualities to our significant others when we feel less attached or less interested; so that it is easier for us to move on. But the reality, we are just simply no more in love. Instead of moving on by attaching someone that may be good for another person negative attributes, we have to accept the fact that we are no more interested and be honest with the person,so they also understand that we have no more intentions in furthering a relationship.
Also, please don't generalize people by meeting one person and having one single experience. I am a Turkish woman, and I am not like that. It may be taken personally by others, you know...

I only know of one Turkish woman like that (shame on you for running around with girls at your age anyway!) and I'm SO glad she stuck like glue. If she hadn't I would have been the only one stuck.
And please Ipek, don't lump all Americans together. I remember my Geometry class well, correcting the teacher in the middle of every proof, and if you ever see an untintentional grammar error (or even a misspelled word) in one of my answers, please message me privately, so I won't be embarassed in front of the whole world. :)

That is the first I've heard. Usually men love Turkish women and women love Turkish men. Turks are contented with being in Turkey if they had the choice.
Don't generalize, some women may have issues and it doesn't mean all of them are like that even if the ratio is four women to one man.
If I were you, ride it for all it's worth. Time will come when you will be old and smelly with no woman beside you. No one is young forever and by then, your passport won't matter. That is when you'd wish you were back in Turkey but they then not even they would want you.

Poor you! one thing you never learnt while living in Turkey is this. You should never ever speak nor attack in any way, shape or form about Turkey or Turkish people in general, otherwise 'they' will crucify you left, right and centre.

No idea. I just pity the fool who would take english lessons from you.
Plus, I know a lot of turkish gals dissing even the world famous italian men because of the poor characters of these guys. So it all comes down to the character. Enough said.
Plus, their attachment can't be attributed to your passport, being a turkish citizen myself, I have been exposed to that kind of attachment on several occasions before. Go figure.

This is not a question of ethnicity but a trivial case of private relationship which is not interesting at all.

Really? Maybe it's an Armenian pretending to be Turk. They do have the tendency to stick to anywhere. They also would do anything to get to Glendale knowing the poverty they have know all their lives. Tell them you really live in Timbuktu, they will leave you alone.
