You will end up at a big park and several street across, try to find High st to take Subway back or go to Jay st( borough hall). It is OK at daytime, there are many cafes and restaurants, but worse than Manhattan side.

You can take good pictures on bridge and waterfront park for Manhattan skylines.

There is some gentrification in DUMBO (Down Underneath the Manhattan Bridge Underpass -- nbhd between Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges). To get there, take the first exit from the bridge (i.e. make a left turn at the end of the elevated part, rather than continuing down the long walkway in the middle of Boerum Place), then take a left.

If your with somebody and you got some cash find Grimaldi's Pizzeria which serves some of the best pizza in NYC and therefore the whole world
It's located at 19 Fulton St literally under the Bridge
Once you get off the Bridge, it's about a 10 minute walk
Do it by dead reckoning
Look at Manhattan
Keep the Bridge on your right and walk to the water
You will find it

You would end up in an area that kinda looks like Manhattan (called Brooklyn Heights). There are many restaurants and office buildings in the area. If you walk a little further you'll see Fulton Mall (avoid).

Brooklyn Heights or DUMBO are the closest neighborhoods. DUMBO skill down under long island Brooklyn Bridge overpass. My well known place is Grimaldis Pizza, homestead of the terrific brick oven pizzas everywhere. Down in the direction of the water is the River Cafe, with superb perspectives, yet costly foodstuff.
