I just got engaged and we are having trouble deciding what color we want! He mostly left it up to me but I would like to make him comfortible in the color he wears too..... The colors I have found and really like are: Victorian rose, Orchid, Dark periwinkle, Carribean blue, Beige, and copper. I figured if I did a poll on answers some of you could help me decide. Thank you for all who can help

Deep colors make an evening wedding really nice. Think of a red and cream, or a dark blue and black. You also might think of what's in bloom during that season, and use the shades of the flowers you find. Dark greens always look fab too.
The most important rule, though, is do what you like. Traditional rules are going out of vogue.

Night time classic wedding you want to go with a bold color and tone color to keep balance. Caribbean blue, Beige would be a elegant but relaxing cool color for June. I am a June bride as well Going with a Sky Blue and Bright White. Hope I helped and best wishes to you in planing your special day!

I like the idea of copper, especially if it's a fall wedding. It's so dramatic, and different. A friend of mine got married in 1989 in the fall- around Halloween, and the bridesmaids wore copper, with hunter green accents, and it was so pretty. She got comments from just about everyone, that the colors were so vivid. Black for the guys is the most traditional choice regardless of what the girls wear.

I just love the look of ivory and champagne--a very rich combination, IMO.
We are marrying on the beach, and are having a pale sea blue and tan as colors (sand and sea)...
There are many lovely color combinations, depending on what you are doing fro your overall wedding. For example, a fall daytime wedding might best feature a nice orange or red, while a more formal evening affair might be better with copper and dark periwinkle...
I love the pink/apple green combo for an outdoor summery wedding--very fresh and happy.

Those are all great colors. I personally don't think you need to choose one or two colors and make EVERYTHING match. I personally would never put a groomsman in a blue vest to match a bridesmaid in 100 years!
Your bridesmaids dresses can be one of those colors with their bouquets containing most of the others. If you look at the galleries on sites like the Knot, you'll see that a nice palette of several complimentary colors looks great for both the wedding party and reception decor!
I think the classiest looks for a groom are neutral colors (black, greys, etc) He can tie it in with his boutonniere or pocket square.

I had this problem too when I got married back in December. I could not pick my colors.
We finally went with my favorite color. Our mail colors were purple and a silvery color. I guess you could say opalesique.
It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I had my doubts but when we got to the place and it was all set up I cried.....lol
My hubby wore black pants and a silvery shirt and a purple tie. I wore my dress that was a opalesique color and the flowers were purple, silvery purple, blue and white. They were awesome! the cake was a beautiful purple combo and was done by a family friend.....
Everyone that came commented on the colors because they are not normal wedding color combo colors. We were told "that it was amazingly beautiful" "OMG the color blow me away" "such consideration is the color scheme" and so many more compliments. 2 of the attending people have since used the same color for their family weddings.

I went with blue.. guys don't look that great walking around in rose or orchid even at a wedding. Beige is a bit bland and copper doesn't cut it.. try one of the blues.

My colors were blue, yellow and white. Looked very clean and very sophisticated. I just went with the theme of where my wedding was located and the colors came naturally for me. For example, I got married on the beach, so I chose naval colors.

Blue with a copper accent is very beautiful, can be romantic and classy, and it may still appeal to your fiance.
