We are to appear Christlike.

Matthew 7:16
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Matthew 7:20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

I don't think so. Of course I am Christian and I just love Anne Rice, and I love vampire movies, and heavy metal music ( actually all kinds of music to tell the truth). Christianity...or to be a Christian, has more to do with faith and the type of person you are, not how you dress. :)

Jesus hung out with the lost all the time. I doubt he would even be relatable to people if he dressed in black pants a short sleeved white shirt and black tie. Paul talked about becoming all things to all men so that he might win as many as possible. I say if someone can help someone by being relatable why should we hinder it (within reason).

Is it wrong for christians to have red hair and be left handed? Is it wrong for christian men to have long hair?
Each generation has it's taboos and fashions that divide. If you banish long nails and goth culture your rebelling kids might head right for them.

I think it depends on what you mean by affiliated in Gothic culture. What do you consider Gothic culture? Are they obsessed with death? Are they goth or Emo? I do have to say that I believe that what you surround yourself with you become. So, if you surround yourself with a "dark" culture, you tend to go down that path.

There is nothing evil in itself, but rather how humans portray, display, abuse the thing is evil.
I like black - in fact, I like Celtic style and there is a lot of Celtic influence in the Goth sub-culture. For me to wear black or Celtic, or anything else currently associated with Goth sub-culture does not make me evil or wrong, and the clothes, jewelry, etc are neither evil nor wrong.

However, we are also called to be separate from the world - in it, but not of it. If we dress, speak, and act like the rest of the world (by this, I mean fads, subcultures, etc) how can we be called "separate"?
Some would say "Yes, but Jesus ate with prostitutes and tax collectors."
True, but he didn't dress like them, speak like them, or act like them. He approached them on "their turf" to witness to them - to bring the Light of Salvation to them. And when they turned to Him, they turned their backs on those sub-cultures.

Dressing Goth will not condemn me to hell. I am saved by the blood of Jesus and there is nothing in this world that can change that. And, truth is, I am attracted to much of the Goth style. But I refuse it because of the social connotations of our time.

It is more important for me to bring Light into this present darkness than to please myself with things that do not matter now or in Eternity, and might possibly cause others to stumble in their faith walk or perhaps not meet God at all.

Surely it leads to a confused identity at the very least?

Worship the forces of darkness Saturday night and in church praising jesus sunday morning?

For God's sake at least be CONSISTENT.

how someone dresses does not mean they arent good people
it doesnt mean they cant be good Christians
what it means is that they are comfortable with a certain lifestyle ... most likely due to company they keep

dont judge a book by its cover though
