If you are just talking diarrhea, like when a dog eats something that doesn't agree with them or has a change in food or stress, the best thing I have ever used is Pumpkin Pie Filling- the PLAIN kind that comes in a can in the grocery store- it is just plain pureed pumpkin with no sugar or spices added.
I have sixty lb. dogs and I give them about a fourth to a half a small can after each movement. It works real fast.
If the diarrhea is bloody or possibly due to blockage or caused by possible serious disease, it's best to go straight to the Vet without feeding until after the dog is examined.
I got this pumpkin pie filling tip from my Vet!
It really works great.

This is what I do when my dog has diarrhea (these were instructions from my vet, with a few "home remedy" tweaks):
1) No food for 24 hrs, this gives the system time to straighten itself out.
-- During this time, give unflavored Pedialyte (found in the baby section at the grocery store) instead of water to keep hydrated.
-- Give a tablespoon of kaopectate or pepto-bismol 3 times a day.
2) After the 24 hours is up, introduce food slowly.
-- Mix 1 part food to 3 parts white rice (white rice is very easy to digest, so it's easy on an upset digestive system).
-- Each feeding, slowly decrease the amount of white rice and increase the amount of food.
-- I also put in a tablespoon of plain canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling) with the food/rice mixtures
3) If the diarrhea is not improving within 48 hrs, it's time to see a vet.
NOTE: If your dog has other symptoms, such as throwing up or acting lethargic, see a vet sooner.

White rice and boiled ground beef works well. Put some raw ground beef in a pot of boiling water and boil until it is well cooked. The reason it's better to boil the beef as opposed to cooking it in a pan like usual is that boiled beef is lower in fat, so it will sit better on the dog's stomach. If you don't have any white rice, brown rice or even pasta works fine. You could also substitute chicken for the beef. In any event, do not give your dog any type of dairy product, since that will only make her diarrhea worse.
If her diarrhea lasts longer than a day or two, or if she shows signs of dehydration such as dry mouth, sunken eyes, loss of skin elasticity (you lift a little of her skin and it doesn't pop back when you release it) or slow capillary refill (you push on her gums and they stay white for more than 3 seconds), take her to the vet.

Don't give your dog the above, it may cause more diahrea. If your dog is still a young puppy, may have "Parvo-virus" and fever.
You need to give your dog "Pedialite" only, no food, otherwise your dog will die of dehydration. The same goes for any age dog. If your dog is weak to eat or drink, use a syringe to feed the Pedialite and make sure your dog swallows it. You will see full recovery in 3 days.
PEDIALITE: prevents dehydration and stops diahrea.
In past 2 of my dogs died of diahrea and I tried all the above answers, but they died anyways. In class I learned "Pedialite" restores dogs from vomiting and diahrea. I have seen all kinds of animals get better with Pedialite even when they are weak and close to dying.

Our vet used to tell us to brown ground beef and mix it with already made minute rice and serve the dog this as it's meal until stool is normal again. However, if this continues over a day or two call your vet..... dogs dehyrdrate very quickly..

White rice- Call the vet- ask for your dog's dose of Loperamide HCL and if its ok for your pet to have. Then go to Walgreens and get Immodium and give him the proper dosage. But be SUPER careful!!!! Too much and your dog will have the opposite prob- constipation!

Take her to the vet. He can find out what is causeing it.He will probably put her on a rice meal of some kind but it is important to know why she developed it.
