Los Angeles and Orange County are about 1hr away from each other according to traffic and the time of day. In LA you can visit the Labrea Tar Pits, Universal Studios, Aquarium of the Pacific, Hollywood (Mann's Theatre & have lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory as the building is old and unique!), LA Zoo (big!), and the historical "Queen Mary" (take the haunted tour).
In Orange County.....Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, go to the Beach, San Diego Seaworld, Temecula and the wineries, San Diego Zoo (also a big zoo), Discovery Museum, Bowers Museum.
Further North to San Francisco...........visit Alcatraz (The Rock) it's the preserved famous Prison on an island off the coast of San Francisco.......Check it's history online.
I hope that some of these ideas will give you a little plan of your own.....Please enjoy, be safe, and have a GREAT time!! Blessings!!

Disneyland is really the only reason I can think of to go to LA. Spend a couple of days there and have a great time. If you really like theme parks theres also Knotts not too far away from Disneyland and Universal Studios in Hollywood.
If theme parks are not your thing try la brea tar pits, hollywood, a beach.

well. i would definatly say hollywood. walk down sunset or hollywood blvd. theres alot of shops and museums.
orange county is big one also. shopping and beaches :)
but since you say LA. you can go get a map from any little shop on sunset or hollywood and it will show you destinations whether it be famous people houses or museums... its all there. its kind of like being at an amusement park but without the cost of admission.
good luck and have fun!

depends on where you're staying, your budget, interest, vacation or work, how much time will you have to sight see after work.
Its best to avoid traffic, you'll waste much of your vacay on the freeway if you don't plan it right.
so I would figure out where you're staying, every area has things to see....then google that area or email me.

rolmalaro, Welcome to L.A.-- maybe this will help you build an itinerary...
Try these things to see in L.A.---Have Fun----->>>>>>>>>>>>
1.Eat at Pinks or Pinkberry or In and Out burger-In and Out has really good chesseburgers.
Their totally fresh French fries ironically I don’t like because they are too “crumbly”? I like McDonalds crispy French
Fries better (even though they are not fresh and are flash frozen. Pinks is OK but not worth a real long wait. They need to clean up and freshen up the street area a little.
2.Farmers Market at the Grove. Go to Charley’s Café in the Farmer’s Market. Go the closest booth to Fairfax. Charlie and Bob are great. Reasonable food at a reasonable price. Charlie is about a 50 year old female…..
