You have about a one in six thousand chance of dying in a car crash. You have about a one in twenty five thousand chance of dying in a plane crash. More than five thousand airplanes are flying over the United States right now, this minute! Many planes take off and land in Egypt every day.

To be less nervous, bring snacks and a book or something else you will enjoy doing. When you get on the plane, you will see many children younger than you and people older than you, all going to Egypt with you. To stay safe, keep your seat belt fastened when you are seated. The plane will bump around in the air a little bit during the flight but this is normal- it is because of the wind. Most likely your pilot will be following the "tracks" across the ocean, which are like big highways in the sky. You will be along these "tracks" on this "skyway" with many other airplanes also crossing the ocean- you will not be alone. There will be fast movement on takeoff and perhaps a "bumpy" landing, but these things are very normal as the pilot slows the plane down, but sometimes it is so smooth you don't even know you hit the ground.

The wings of the plane will move a little because they are supposed to and designed to flex a great deal.

Enjoy meeting people on your flight- if you feel scared, be sure to tell a flight attendant.

good luck and have fun

keep this in mind, there are over 30,000 flights just in the United States every day. So think of how many that is per week, and per year. How many crashes do you hear about? Really, not that many compared to how many flights there are. The chances of the plane crashing are very unlikely. Once you actually get on the plane and take off I'm sure you will feel more comfortable. Bring some books and magazines to keep yourself occupied. Don't worry, you will be fine.

I too was just recently extremely scared to fly because my last flight was a bad one. I got a lot of help from www.fearofflyinghelp.com. It's some lessons on how to calm your nerves and it gives you great education about the plane. I just flew from tampa to san diego yesterday on Southwest. At first i was terrified.. fearing the same bad flight i had before. But this time it was smooth and so much fun. I bought a book to read and just tried to relax myself. When it was time to change planes in Pheonix.. i was totally comfortable with my next flight to take me to san diego. Your fear stems from the fear of the unknown. Go to that website. It will teach you and help you a lot to make you a little less nervous. Have a great flight and a good trip!

If you have an ipod or mp3 player, those are good distractions. Magazines also help. Planes are actually really safe and the world looks amazing when you are in the air. Just enjoy it. I am sure when you are done, you will wonder why you even worried about it.

Well lets put it this way an airplane is the safe place in the world to be. And do something that will keep you occupied like read or my personal favorite sleep. Have a good flight and there is nothing to be worried about.

The best advice I can give you is what I do for myself and that is...I pray, I pray during takeoff...if we hit a rough patch and on landing...I talk to God..asking him to give the pilot the ability to fly the plane, etc...it helps to calm me down.

Much safer to fly than to drive.
I never knew anybody hurt flying but lots hurt from car wrecks.
Relax and enjoy. Just don't think about it.
