I got saved praying in the name of Jesus, so did Billy Graham and thousands of others. Jesus is the English translation, and if you will notice it is a very unique name. Personally I don't know anybody else who has that name neither so the Name Jesus is the sweetest name I know. Jesus Christ is just one of those names that reach out and grab you, its meant to be that way from the foundation of the world I believe. God new all the languages back then, he knew all the translations. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour, He spoke to my heart over 30 years ago telling me I needed to be saved. That day I said the sinners prayer and accept Jesus into my Heart, I have never been the same since. It was like a ten ton burden lifted off me, sin is heavy, but Jesus died on a cross and took the burden from me. He washed my white as snow, oh of course I sin everyday but now when I ask for forgiveness I get it. I am covered by the blood, that precious blood Christ shed at Calvery. A perfect sacrifice, when he arose from the grave he forever washed clean all sins away from everyone who will call upon his name, have you been saved, has Jesus washed you clean, you can be saved right now, just pray this Prayer believing, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

in case you weren't allowed to apply a be conscious when you consider which you mustn't pronounce it suited most of the persons in the Southeastern united states of america might could desire to easily stop speaking altogether. each and every of the controversy on the subject of the right pronunciation of "Jehovah" possibly stems lower back to the Jews theory that the call should not be spoken and a appropriate superstition that the "Tetragramaton", (aka the call "YHWH"), had some style of magical powers. i'm not in basic terms asserting that they believed that God had magical powers, i'm asserting they believed that the call of God must be utilized with the aid of human beings to a approach or the different carry out magic.

it oughtn't matter what we call him, so long as people know who we are talking about. everyone recognizes the name 'jesus' (with given pronunciation) to mean the biblical figure who was supposedly the son of god. there is in no way anything derogatory meant by said name, thus it is perfectly appropriate seeing as how most do not even know what else to call him in this language. think of it like a small child who calls you by some other name because he cannot yet pronounce or remember yours. you still know that he means you, and it is accepted.

Interesting query. Honestly I agree with you, however I do know some who choose not to use Jehovah's name claim it wrong to say the name of the Almighty. So they wouldn't apply the same rules to Jesus' name.

The tetragram YHWH has an unknown pronunciation. That is O.T. In the N.T. God comes to us as Jesus Christ from the Hebrew Yeshua. The common language usage throughout the years, Hebrew to Latin to English has changed Yeshua to Jesus and that's alright with God because He gives us Salvation by the name of Jesus Christ. We get the Holy Ghost by jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the appropriate name for our Lord and Savior.

Theres nothing wrong with using the name Jesus.
its like calling Bob with the name Matt, if he doesn't mind then its cool.. Since we probably don't know his exact name then I don't think he has a problem with us calling him something else.
And actually One_Cross..I was told when they came up with the name Jehovah they accidentally mixed up God's name with the foot note of Adonai (which means my lord) from that they came up with Jehovah. Thats because many Jews back in the day thought it was sin to say God's name so they said Adonai instead.

Well if you back to the Hebrew, God's name is YHWH (or Yahweh) Jehovah is an anglicized version of Yahweh, just like Jesus is the anglicized version of Yeshua.
God bless

Something that has always amazed me.With all the words to describe how you feel in the english language and man or woman still chooses to curse. It is so crude.Mostly inappropriate around small children. And does not benefit you in anyway.
