Two days ago I felt a spot develop on the side of my nose. Now the side of my nose is red and swollen and sore to touch. I think it might be a boyle developing beneath the skin but I cant be sure. Is it worth a trip to the doctor or does anyone know what it is?

It's worth a trip to your doctor considering how close the side of your nose is to your "brain" if an infection spreads. Once I got something behind my ear, right where the ear met my head. They took a culture and lanced it immediately. I went on anti-biotics immediately. 2 days later lab results showed it was staph.

It could be a developing boil, they are very painful, especially in that region. It certainly would be worth a call to your Dr.'s office.
