Yes, particularly with regard to fruit, veg and meat.

I'm not British but regardless it's better to buy local goods especially when they are the same price or slightly more, as it helps the economy and preserves your neighbours jobs (maybe at the same time your job too).

Practically impossible to get anything British aprt from fresh veg.
I do contribute a nice sum to British beer though. No foreign rubbish for me

I always look to see where an item comes from.
It seems the only thing you can buy British is food these days.
So my meat,veg, dairy shopping is always British.
I've worked out the way packaging is written so it try to fool you its British.
If it says packaged in Britain you can bet its an import but wrapped up in UK.

There does not seem to be much point other than for food, most of our industry is foreign owned now and if you are talking about saving jobs you will find that many are going to Eastern Europeans and not to us Brit`s.

For most foodstuffs i do-live next door a huge farmshop /butcher so the meat is all local not to mention fresher and tastier!!xx

I shop at either Tesco or Asda. As far as I'm concerned they are British shops so i am buying British

Yes, but try to buy nice more than "British" If it's "British" and "nice" that's better still. :-)

they had a Buy American policy years ago -- as far as I know it failed too -- Sam Walton was a big Buy American guy -- he died and Walmart started buying Chinese ..
