I have been talking to this guy that I met online. He seems really nice, and I like him a lot. We've exchanged pictures, and phone numbers and talk quite often. How soon is too soon to meet in person?? We exchanged phone numbers only a week after email each other back and forth, and he is already talking about coming into my town (he lives about 35 mins away) and meeting up with me somewhere. What do you think? Is it too soon? Should we talk on the phone more?

There have been instances that online acquaintance turned out to be the best thing that ever happened in your life. Some even come from both ends of the world. I guess that's what you call as destiny. The problem with online dating is that you'll never really know if the person is telling the truth. You see, meeting somebody online means you don't know anything about the person's personal or professional background. The question there is all about TRUST -- if you trust the person the you can arrange a personal meeting. But if you're doubting then don't. There's this old saying that says, in decision makings, you have to be 100% sure first before you take a step, if in doubt then don't take that option at all. Remember, there also been online dating cases that ended in fatal rape and murder. You'll never know. But if you really like the guy, a nice public place where you can be safe is an ideal place for first meetings.

I think your best bet would be to either web cam with him, give it more time, or both. you really dont know if he could be sending u a fake picture. Get to know each other a little more and if you insist on meeting so soon make sure its in a public place and possibly bring a friend just incase.

My advice is to meet with him pretty soon. But i would have a friend of yours come with you to be save. I know you probably trust this guy but just to be safe i would take someone. They dont have to be close to you but just in line of sight.

Hope you like him.

I personally think the sooner the better, so you don't build up false expectations and then get let down. Meet for lunch or coffee one day, and see where it goes from there.
